6%ABV. English Bitter Actually has a nose that has fresh pleasant flavors of vanilla and sweet buttter. There is a thin creamy tan head and a deep amber color coming in at 20ºSRM. Heavy ponderous mouthfeel, slightly salty and sour. Good malty body. Substantial without being showy. Good quality bitters Clean without being cloying. Goes on Favorites List for English Bitter.

Appearance: clear coppery light brown, with one finger of creamy nitro beige head. Aroma: graham crackers, toffee, a bit of cardboard. Taste: caramel hard candy, toffee, a bit nutty, with some mellow, earthy hops. Finish: smooth and creamy, with just a hint of minerality or metal at the end. Notes: Very enjoyable, with sweet and nutty malts buoyed by a creamy smooth palate. On tap at the Ale House Columbia as Coventry Cream Ale.

Tap. Pours clear copper with a trace of creamy white head. Aroma is caramel and cookie malts, floral hops, lemon, grassy notes, and light vegetal notes. Flavor is sweet malt forward with dry hops (light bitterness), light fruit esters, and some vegetal notes; not much of a finish. Light body and low carbonation. Maybe a bad batch? What I had a year ago was much better.
