On tap at Pratt. Pours a clear copper with a thin white head. Light malt, pine, sweet and sticky. Sweet, lots of spruce. Pine and spruce is a bit much, and it would be tough to do an entire pint of this so I’m glad I did a 5oz pour as part of a sampler. Well done and prominent, but a bit tough to drink. Finishes with a mild bitterness and toast. radagast83 (8301) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Cask at Churchkey. Poured a dark amber color with a small wispy white head. Aroma was sweet caramel, with a touch of pine, but more hop pine than pine. Flavor was different - started off with smooth malts, but with a touch of spruce pine sap - pretty interesting. Travlr (25787) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 18, 2012
Cask. Clear maroon, tan large bubble head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, pine edge. Taste is smooth brightly spiced caramel and subtle bitter chocolate. Interesting. MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - JUL 10, 2012
On tap 5 oz. sample at RDF near Gallery Place in Washington, DC.
Clear, copper red with cream-colored creamy head and good lacing.
Sweet aroma of cherry, spruce, caramel and orange.
Taste of pine, sweet caramel, cherry and bread malts with a bitter pine and floral hop finish.
Medium/full body and medium/light carbonation.
Off-putting at first sip, but grows on you.
