UPDATED: APR 11, 2015 For summers drink this would perhaps be a thirst extinguisher, nice, balanced, enough hops, good complexity and mostly recalls grapefruit from sweetness to bitter. Still the very first impression was "More Simcoe hops!!!", since this is almost winter and although I admire this beer, it would only compete with the best when having a stronger character. Batch: 001

MasDen (527) - Mogilev, BELARUS - JAN 3, 2018
Fruity aroma with notes of tropical fruits and lemon. Golden, clear with big white head. Fruits, a little grassy and small bitterness in taste. Medium body, medium crbonation.

Alengrin (5884) - BELGIUM - DEC 11, 2017
Simcoe IPA by this modern Estonian craft brewer, draught at De Kantien in Ghent. Tightly cobweb-lacing, dense, snow white, frothy head, hazy peachy gold with ochre tinge. Aroma of dried orange peel, lemon zest, bitter herbs, bread crust, minerals, freshly cut grass, olive oil, green banana. Cleanly fruity onset, unripe banana aspect, low in sweetness, more or less spritzy carbonation with a minerally effect but acceptable for a draught IPA. Supple, bit oily mouthfeel, green olive-like hoppy accents accompanying a cereally, softly bready malt body, debouching into a long bitter finish, grassy, oily and dried citrus peel-like, quenching and drying, bit spicy. Pleasant enough and technically well made, but honestly I expected more citrusy and oniony hop fragrance from a Simcoe IPA and I missed that a bit here.

Salian (165) - Sale, Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2017
Copper coloured, with a huge orange scent hit on pouring. Promises a bit more than it delivers, flavour is good, citrus, malt caramel and grassy herbs, but after the initial burst of aroma I thought this would be a cracker, not just a good sessionable American IPA.

3.3
berkshirejohn (6762) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 19, 2017
33cl bottle from Beer52.com at 5% ABV. A slightly hazy pale amber pour with a loose cream head; yeasty aroma; soft grainy body with a dry woody bitterness; and a pleasant warmth. Seems more like a Saison than an IPA to me.
