Really like the spruce elements to this porter - gives it uniqueness. I actually had this beer mulled, but still like it. Side Note: I’m going to try mulling other beers...
2012 bottle - pours dark brown tan head - nose/taste of dog food, spruce, chocolate - medium body. Foamy mess when opened. bytemesis (8759) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JAN 21, 2016
Botte, 2012. Bit of a gusher on opening after a huge pop that made be glad the swingtop was strongly attached. Pours deep ruby chestnut, large puffy tan head, dissipates slowly with a lot of residual and nice lacing. Aroma is dusty, hints of wood smoke, spruce tips, anise, molasses. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, woody, spruce, light smoke, molasses, hints of straw, some rye spiciness as well. Medium body, high carbonation. This is a really interesting beer; not at all what I expected, but pleasantly enjoyable. edbast (38) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 9, 2015
2013 version. I got definite "aged beer" qualities, a little funk, almost like a sour / flanders red. Very interesting. More porter than stout. djd07 (15256) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 29, 2015
Bottle as shown. Pours a dark brown with large beige head that leaves sticky lacing. The aroma is roast, chocolate, and rye. Medium mouth, spice, roast, spruce, light dryness, good. Prufrockstar (2132) - Moscow, Idaho, USA - MAY 17, 2015
Bottle thanks to Levi. Dark brown pour, creamy light khaki head. Sprucy, herbal, choc, lightly tart; cola, moderately sweet. Odd herbal spruciness to this, but it grows on me over time. This would get flamed in a blind tasting, but it’s alright.

Bottle thanks to Chris. Pours a dark black color with a large beige head. The aroma is big sweet malts, pine. Sweet, malty chocolate, big spruce, very smooth. A very smooth chocolate, pine flavor. baraciisch (3311) - California, USA - DEC 26, 2014
Dark brown pour with large foamy tan head... Aroma of roasted malts, berries, nuts, smoke...Flavor is unbelievably unique, light fruity and nutty notes with berry notes on finish, spruce tips lend a light spicy fruity palate... Really nice

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2014 Bottle... Pours murky and black with a small, frothy, beige head. The aroma offers dark chocolate, caramel, fudge, dark berries and a vinous splash of tawny port. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and adequate carbonation. The flavor is bittersweet, acrid and deeply-roasted with a light, enjoyable components of brownie brittle and fudge. Finishes acrid and carbonic. Good stuff. Bottle courtesy of Bvery! fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - OCT 3, 2014

"This was ok, but ended up a bit of a fail on a few counts. I dug the spruce, and had fun with the name (what exactly is an imperial stout porter? Pick one) but it was weak on the imperial no matter which. Dark brown pour. Ok. Body was average for a beer, weak and fizzy for the style. I liked the spruce on the nose but that and an ill fitting green olive smell overpowered any toasty roasty goodness. Weak. Flavor was better, more spruce and olive, not As astringent, but still not that great. "
