Bottle at James’ cellar cleaning tasting. Pours a hazed gold with a large white head. Big fuzzy musk, funky with some fruit on the nose. Medium bodied, soft acetone, tangy and jammy. Soft and tangy into the finish, lightly acetic. Gentle musk, tangy wheat. Interestning.

Majority of a 25.4 oz. bottle, consumed on 1-1-16. The cork exploded off upon opening the cage, and I lost an ounce or two of beer to overflow. That’s an automatic minus 1 point from the overall score. Pours a dark gold with moderate to high effervescence. Clear in the initial pour, hazy in the final pour. Large amount of short-lasting, cream-colored head. Too much head. Otherwise looks good. Fresh, yeasty, vegetal smell. Features scents of champagne, salty tartness, rose petals, and perhaps rotting vegetables. Reminds me of a gose in smell. Tart, dirt or soil-like flavor. Vegetal bitterness atop a lightly sweet base. Flavor of blood or iron. Honey becomes more evident upon multiple sips. Dry, dirt-like finish. I know the tartness is coming from the rhubarb, but I don’t necessarily specifically get rhubarb. Frothy in the palate. I’m underwhelmed. Disappointing. It does improve upon multiple sips. Sampled from the tap at ABR 2015. Pours a hazy bright gold with a rhubarb hue with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. , I got the bottom, so this review will be a little skewed. i did have a sip of someone else’s to compare. Hazy yellow, low carbonation, abv quite well hidden. 750 ml bottle shared by huhzubendah, thanks Matt. Pours a translucent orange color with single bubbles lining the rim. Aroma is nice: Brett and lacto notes give the illusion of this being a sour. Grapefruit, rhubarb and mild honey as well. Flavor is solid: grapefruit tang with hint of vegetal rhubarb upfront, honey sweetness along the middle, and tangy strawberry rhubarb pie in the finish. Very sweet, but not unpleasant. Syrupy thin mouthfeel, mild carbonation.
