Bottle from Fenaknoken, Oslo. Light golden, a little cloudy, head dies fast, smell of newly cut grass, wellbalanced sweet taste, but short. agree on the kellerbierfeel on this one.

50 cl botte straight from Ølve på Egge brewery. This a bottle from the last batch and has a ABV of 5.3%. Unfiltered and unpasteurised, bottle conditioned. Pours a hazy yellow color and a medium white head. Moderate yeasty aroma and a very nice hoppy flavor. Very good beer that I could drink all night.

Bottle 0,5l. Golden colored. A rapidly disappearing white head. Modest fruity aroma. A bit unvaried flavor with fruity hints. Refreshing. Some yeast in the aftertaste.

July 1we passed Steinkjer on our car driving holiday. I contacted Haakon Kvam of the Ølve på Egge Bryggeri, and he welcomed us very nice and most friendly in his large and beautiful farmhouse (trønderlån), which also, in the basement, includes the brand new brewery. This was the peak moment of my holiday, equalled only by my ringside witnessing of Adin Brown, the goallie of Aalesunds FK, heading the eaqualizer against Rosenborg at Lerkendal the following day! I wish Ølve på Egge all the best. I like the Ølveøl very much, but the Steinkjer Jubileumsøl I like less. (Please get rid of the yeasty taste). But I am an Ølve fan as from July 1 2007. My comments on the Jubileumsøl: The flavour is light hopped pale ale-like, with lots of grain flavour. I like that. But the taste is soon overtaken by a rather sour and yeasty taste that i do not like. Reminds somewhat of a dry wheat beer. Is there some wheat malt involved? Quite refreshing beer, but too light, too little hops, and too yeasty flavour for my liking.

Bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is grain, hay. Flavour is grain, malt, yeast, fruit.

yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 16, 2007
Bottle. Unclear, golden beer with a white head and some sediments floating. Quite neutral aroma with grain and hay. The flavor is grainy and malty, pale malts that is, with some spicy hops. Medium body. A pleasant and drinkable farm-ale, but it is too boring. Regarding the qualities of the Ølve Øl, this was a bit disappointing. (070608)

500ml bottle. Hazy pale body with an off white head. Vague fruity aroma. Flavor has a mild touch of farmer ale, mild malt, fruity and a bit of hay. Thin Body. Nice refreshing beer, but have to admit I was a bit disappointed, sorry. Thanks to Ole_R.

Bottle. Hazy, pale golden with a small, but quite stable, white head. Nice and surprising milk chocolate aroma, as recognized also from their Ølveøl. Dry grassy toffee flavours with chocolate notes. Medium to light body. Very nice.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2007 Bottled, thanks Ole_R! Cloudy dark yellow, brief airy head. Grassy orangey nose. Dry and light, medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Minerally and lightly orangey with lots of piney grassy hops. Light fruity with some saopiness. Lingering resiny bitterness. Interesting beer, sort of like a top fermented zwickelbier.

500ml bottle picked up at Fenaknoken and enjoyed at a hotel room in Oslo. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. Slightly unclear golden body. Missing head. Dry malty aroma with hints of yeast. Unusual and interesting taste; a peaty character with grain, figs and dried fruits offset by notes of citric hops. Nice bitter ending. Rounded, dry texture (Open, light, and happy) (15.05.2007).
