Dark ruby color, small beige head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, metal, vegetables and coffee. Light to medium bodied. Typical Olvi soft palate, but a bit more bitterness than normally. Flavor is dark malty, caramelly (not roasted), finish has some light coffee notes. Dry aftertaste. More balanced than Export version. Reasonably good dark Velko imitation.
Can, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a clear, dark amber beer with a small head. Roasted malts, toffee and a touch of fresh and dried fruits in the aroma. The flavor has much the same, roasted malts blending with a fruityness. A hint of bitterness and metal in the end. Medium body, quite dry. A drinkable beer indeed, but as interesting as one might expect from a 4% ABV Finnish macro. 110416 FatPhil (17080) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 18, 2011

Very much like a watered down version of the old Olvi Sandels Tumma export 4.3%. Similar rich roast, but mostly lacking the slightly stale coffee-groundsy, and with very little hint of the malty backbone Olvi used to put in their dark beers. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was just a dodgy rebadge with a cheaper formula.
Yes, that was almost a copy of my 4.3% rating, that’s because this is a copy of the 4.3% beer, and not worth wasting effort on. Oooh, 0.3 off the ABV, and 0.3 off my score - what a coincidence!
Can @ Ulfborg Easter Tasting, 2011. Pours clear amber with a small creamy white head. Paper, grain, fruit and caramel. Extremely watery . .
