Aroma: The smell is sweet and smoky, like a smoked sausage, some spices and chocolate.GusL (15) - DENMARK - DEC 29, 2012
Appearance: The beer is dark amber with hints of copper, the head is off-white, very high and fluffy, but settling slowly and leaves good lacing. Some curtains.
Taste: Upfront intensely sweet, brown sugar and dark bread, sweet dried fruits, then we have bitter burned notes. Roasted coffee and a dry spiciness.
Palate: Medium low carbonation, small bubbles, a thick smooth feeling, a huge body, and a dry finish.
Overall: The sweetness and thickness is almost a notch too much. But as an after-dinner-by-the-fireplace beer it is very suitable.
Note: Bottle 330 ml. Reviewed 2010-12-14.
Bottled. Scania, Sweden. Pours deep amber with a slight, persistent head. Aroma contains distinct but light smoke and also caramel. The flavour matches the smell and adds a bit of rye bread and malt. It all ends quite decently with a malty and a bit ’sour’ palate. Definitely better than most Yule-brews, very good. Roger60 (222) - - DEC 23, 2014
Frisk och ädel rauchbier. Passar fint i mass. Har tyvärr bra en ynklig flaska. Perfekt balanserad för feta och magr rätter från julbordet. En blivande favorit. God till bjärn och älg? hirigalzkar (3166) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 5, 2009
Draught @ Sorbon. Sweet and spicy beer. Great nordic christmas feeling. Big bodied. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAR 8, 2011
Bottled (thanks omhper!). Amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is bready malts, some smoked and roasted notes along with some spices and caramel. Flavour is fruity, caramelly, wooden, spicy and mildly herbal notes as well. As it warms up some smoked wet wooden notes start to show. Fruity and grassy bitterness along with mild smoke in the finish.

Bottle. Deep bronze clear body, small beige head. Nose is roasted malts, cured game and ham with hints of caramel. Taste is burnt caramel, cured game, deep malts and hints of grains. Sweet and kinda salty at the same time. Full mouthfeel, great balance. Very nice and a great style marriage. Leini (2056) - SWEDEN - FEB 3, 2013
330ml bottle, 2012 edition. Mahogany body with a dash of brown, dark white foam. Nice smoky campfire touch, along with tar, burnt sugar, cloves, smoked meat and a light citrusbitter finish. Nice addition to the x-mas table. Nische (2240) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 6, 2013
330 ml bottle, rated from backlog. Brown and clear. Brown foamy head. Smoked aroma with some sweetness to it. Sweet taste with spices, caramel and of course some mild smokiness. Very good one. alex_alkis (419) - SWEDEN - JAN 2, 2015
Perhaps the most beautiful beer I have drunk. Fantastic aroma with strong notes of smoked ham and yeast. The taste is a little thinner though. Franzen (594) - SWEDEN - NOV 25, 2015
Soft smokiness, bit of fruit and leather. Taste is a bit salty with a nice triangular cooperation between smoke, sweet and bitter. Balanced and good drinkability.
