ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 29, 2010
Bottle at Monks Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear reddish amber colour topped with a rich frothy tan-coloured head. Rich yet rounded aroma of smoked sausages, toasted malts, iodine, sea-salt, roasted almonds and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied with notes of sea-salt, tar, heavily smoked ham, licorice, roasted nuts and mild herbs. Firm mouthfeel with gentle carbonation. Long peaty finish of salty licorice, sea-salt and toasted malts. One of the best and unique Rauchbiers I’ve sampled to date with it’s distinctive notes of Islay whiskey.

Ungstrup (38986) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2010
2010 version, but also calle a smoked bock on the label - 6.5% ABV. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of smoke, malt, caramel, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, smoke, caramel, wood, and bread, as well as a touch of spices, leading to a dry smokey finish.

BeerSkull (1372) - SWEDEN - NOV 8, 2011
Soft and rich aroma with lots of flavors such as orange, lemon, yeast, sweet malt, spices and smoke. The taste is round with soft tangy and fruity notes, hints of caramel and a slight smokiness. The smooth taste is impressive. This is a great beer!

finol (3525) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 5, 2009
Draught at Sorbon, Bromma. Pours redish with a creamy head. Spicy and x-masy!

3.8
rarbring (2290) - Linköping, SWEDEN - DEC 5, 2012
Aroma: The smell is sweet and smoky, like a smoked sausage, some spices and chocolate.
Appearance: The beer is dark amber with hints of copper, the head is off-white, very high and fluffy, but settling slowly and leaves good lacing. Some curtains.
Taste: Upfront intensely sweet, brown sugar and dark bread, sweet dried fruits, then we have bitter burned notes. Roasted coffee and a dry spiciness.
Palate: Medium low carbonation, small bubbles, a thick smooth feeling, a huge body, and a dry finish.
Overall: The sweetness and thickness is almost a notch too much. But as an after-dinner-by-the-fireplace beer it is very suitable.
Note: Bottle 330 ml. Reviewed 2010-12-14.
