berkshirejohn (6767) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 25, 2015
2015 version on tap at Hotel Ranga, Hella, Iceland. A dark chestnut brown colour with a cream head; aroma of cinnamon and raisins; fuity taste with a touch of smoke and Christmas spices that aren’t too dominant. A pleasant seasonal beer.

Bottle from SB Strömstad enjoyed at home
Almost ruby red, thick beige head. Smell of light smoked malts, hints of butterscotch, caramel and some dark malts. Moderate sweet, a very mild smoky flavor, some dark fruits and a tiny hint of tar. Moderate bitter, earthy hops.

I think this one could need a bigger kick of the smoke than they dared here. A bit of a letdown comapared to Ölvisholt Lava

Leini (2079) - SWEDEN - FEB 9, 2015
330ml bottle, 2012 edition. Mahogany body with a dash of brown, dark white foam. Nice smoky campfire touch, along with tar, burnt sugar, cloves, smoked meat and a light citrusbitter finish. Nice addition to the x-mas table. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Splitenz (388) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 19, 2014
The version I had was called (Sweden only) and I had it at Crowbar in Oslo. A tske on the traditional Norwegian Christmas beer with anis, cloves , yeasty mouthfeel and undefines malt profile. I’m not a big fan of the style, so it’s hard to tell wether I found this a success, but I would have to say, not really.

SaintMatty (7608) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - MAR 3, 2014
330ml Bottle (Restaurant 73, Reykjavik) - Dark brown in colour. Cinnamon, dried fruit and berries in the aroma. Fruity, spicy and slightly sweet taste with notes of raisins, sultanas, cinnamon and mulled wine.

Rune (13735) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 28, 2013
200ml glass, tap at CrowBar & Bryggeri Clear ruby-red body. Film-type layer. Fragile lacework. Mid-sweet malty aroma with smoke and spices. Smoked malts added by the sweetness of star anise. Clean in the mouth. Fits the season, I would say. (Oslo 25.11.2013).

200 ml on tap @ "CrowBar", Oslo November 16, 2013 Brown to amber in color with a thin beige head Medium carbonation Aroma is smoke, oak, fruits, dark sugar and spices. A bit smoky, spiced and bitter finish. A bit weak and thin in taste regarding aroma and ABV.

Holmen1 (6651) - Stavanger, NORWAY - NOV 23, 2013

3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Bottle. Pumpkin pie / allspice generic aroma. Medium body, frothy carbonation, mild sweetness, some starchiness, a lot of caramel malt and baking spice, as expected. Simple and similar in character to the rest of these Joal Bjor all over Iceland in November.
