3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks go to Haukur for sending a bottle.
I didn’t have my hardcore rating hat on when I sampled this one with a few friends, buit here goes anyway. There was no preconceived notion on this one, as we couldn’t read a the label. Deep amber in color, we didn’t get too much head when we poured it out, probably more due to the way it was poured than the beer itself. A good nose of clove and cinnamon, but the clove did not overwhelm as it can easily do. The body was a bit thin, if we deciphered the label correctly it was due to the wheat in it. Otherwise well balanced between the spice and malt sweetness. Overall it was a very enjoyable beer.
The foam is great and keeps a relatively long time. It also has a pleasant malty and slightly burnt aroma mixed with a syup sweetness. The taste is light caramel tones and a little dark bitter chocolate that ends up in a light hop bitterness with slightly burnt aftertaste. I might have liked some fruit and a little vinousity to call it a perfect dubbel. POLK (2219) - Hørning, DENMARK - MAR 5, 2011
Sweet Icelandic Christmas beer which is like a Christmas beer should be, nice seasoned. There are used cloves and cinnamon but not too much, as unfortunately seen in other Christmas beer.

500 ml bottle. From København, Denmark. BB 030410. Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - SEP 22, 2009
Dark reddish brown colour with small tan head.
Dark fruits, roasted malt but most of all lots of Christmassy spices, at least cinnamon and gingerbread. Roasted malt, bitter hoppiness and spices and hints of alcohol and coffee. This beer really is with Christmas twist.
0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Dark ruby color. Sweet berryish and caramelly aroma with notes of gluhwine and plastic. Sweet berryish flavor with strong spiciness featuring clove, cinnamon and licorice. Spiciness is overboad and feels a bit plasticky. Zoink (8) - roskilde, DENMARK - SEP 12, 2009 does not count
