When youre dealing with the cheapest beers, youre not so much looking for good taste as much as lack of bad tastes. Oly fits the bill here. I used to mix a can with 20 or so ounces of orange juice after a long morning run, and the result was pretty much fizzy orange juice with just a hint of beer taste.

Quenches thirst if very cold on a very hot day. Then again, so does water. One plus....it was my dads standby for years.

12 oz can for $2 at Sisters and Brothers, used as a fire extinguisher for some Nashville chicken. Was it worth it? Time will tell. A lot of history with this brew, so Im at least somewhat excited to finally try this. Surprisingly, this is the first time Ive had this beer. I really thought i would.go for.the half gallon can i see at the gas station sometimes. Someday. Didnt pour this to a glass, because i dont believe such behavior is allowed. Tastes like a watered down beer, with water added. The beer served its purpose for me today. Well, thats one thing we got.

Golden with a fast-vanishing white head. Aroma is mainly cereal and maybe a bit of toast. Dry, malty with no real bitterness detected. Bland but fits the expected mass produced light lager profile. I would grab one without hesitation if the temperature hit triple digits.

Enjoyed at the second Black Mourning Light festival when we played there. Pours a light golden colour with a white head, average retention and a little creamy lacing at the bottom. Malty nose with hardly any hops. The taste is mild and malty with cereal notes. The mouthfeel is crisp. A watery king of brew, but not offensive.

"Its the water" indeed. Just the same as Pabst, but not as recognizable, harder to find, and more expensive sometimes

I am not even going to go into aroma, appearance, and so on. Everyone has struggled through a beer like this. That said... I do drink Olympia quite a bit. It is a cheap beer for when your drinking all day and dont mind comprising the finer things about beer. It is best when you drink it cold and fast.

Can, largely because my grandfather used to drink it long before I was born. Pours a clear yellow color with a moderate off-white head. Nose has some corn to it, as does the taste. Pretty much exactly like every other soulless pale lager.

Poured a mid gold with light head and lacing. Slightly sweet aroma of malts and light hops. Taste is very smooth with al light maltiness and hoppiness. Does not have the typical slightly noxious taste associated with most grain laden lagers. Palate was decent. One of the better pale lagers I have tried. Too bad its not available in my area...

Can at The Lift. It is what is. Cheap, quenching, with a smidge of flavor. Malt makes an appearance in the taste. Drink cold for best effect.
