Bottle at a Christmas bottle swap with friends. Poured a really dark brown color, mostly still. Aroma was a blast of vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, caramel, with a lot of bourbon notes. Raisins, light yeast, with some dried dark cherries and dark brown sugar. Very smooth, booze is there, but it's really well masked here.

750 c&c from Bruisin’ Ales. Pours dark brown with a transient tan head. Aroma of bourbon and darkish fruit. Med ++ body. Flavor is dark treacle, bourbon, wood and darkish fruit. Some Belgian yeast/banana mild aspects. Very nice stuff.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark brown with a modest tan head and a treacle and bourbon aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with a hint of banana ester and a bourbon finish. A great sipper.

Dark brown with khaki head. Nose of caramel, bourbon, and dark Belgian esters. Nice sweet caramel bourbon flavors incorporated into the beer.

Love me some dark strong Belgians. Nose of cocoa, bourgon and cherries. Appearance brown, somewhat clear, spotty lacing. Taste is a bit acetic, boozy, some dark fruit. Mouthfeel is syrupy, warm, lots of tastes and feelings going on. Perhaps not super well integrated. A bit better than the bourbon barrel aged Philosophers. Pretty good, falls short of great.

Bottle. Colour... dark brown with no head. Nose... fruity, with vanilla, toffee, butterscotch and Belgian-y sugars. Palate...massively fruity with dark fruits predominating. Spritely bubbles hit the tongue and linger nicely whilst flavours of dark cherry, steeped plums and earthy cassis coat the mid and back palate. The finish is long and teems with black cherry, black currant and dark brown sugar.

750ml corked bottle. Rich bourbon aroma with notes of caramel, toffee, chocolate, molasses and oak. Pours deep mahogany colored with a thin light brown head that has little retention and lacing. Starts with decadently sweet caramel, toffee and molasses flavors with a full body and good mouthfeel. Finishes smooth with chocolate malt, oak and nice bourbon flavors with a slight warming effect from the booze, but it is well hidden otherwise. Really nice Anniversary brew.
