COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

Pours dark amber from the bottle. Huge, foamy head. Aroma is caramelized sugar, light cherry. Taste is sweet, a bit cloying, complemented by a mild tangy note. Body is light. Overall too sweet and one dimensional.

Bottle from rakuten served in a tulip. A lovely ruby brown with a long lasting beige head. The aroma is massively fragrant giving off a mouthwatering spicy raisin bread odor. Full bodied with a round carbonation combined with a sharp finish. The taste is sweet fruity raisins, plums, molasses and some booziness. Good but KBC’s was easier to drink, more sessionable I’d say.

Bottle from Total Wine, South Richmond. Pours murky brown with a small off-white to beige head. Nice dark fruit aroma, including plum, bitter cherry, perhaps raisins, caramel. Flavor is raisin, chocolate, figs, dates, plums, red cherry, caramel, a little yeast, a little glue. Lots going on here. Good!

Brown color. Fruity aroma, nice caramel malt tones. Tastes is sweet with some fruity yeast tones, but balanced by a perfect spicy finish. Notes of licorice, caramel, dried fruits, fennel, a bit of clove are evident. Finishes nice and spicy...bit of roast. An incredible dubbel.
