Sample at Beer Meets Wood on 09/23/2017. Brownish-mahogany color with a medium light beige head that diminishes gradually to an outer ring. Small patches of lace. Bourbon, malt and dark fruit aroma. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, caramel malt and dark fruit. The finish is mildly boozy with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall. jsporrer (1116) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 24, 2017
Free sample on tap at the brewery. Pours a deep caramel brown with a thin off white ring. Strong alcohol aroma. Pure whiskey bomb. Smooth and fairly tasty with lots of sweet caramel notes. Just a bit too boozy for me. Not harsh and doesn't burn the throat but has a very warm finish. MarkBarnes (419) - Waterville, New York, USA - DEC 4, 2016
Dec. 4, 2016. This has apparently been revived a limited edition product; picked up a bottle at the brewery yesterday. Was told that it weighs in at 12.5% ABV. While a bit boozy, the explosion of flavor and long finish each sip presents is sublime. A fan of Belgian ales, I don’t recall enjoying a St. Bernardus Abt 12, Rochefort 10 or Chimay Bleu any more than this. (Non-technical review.) blipp (9691) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 15, 2014
Draft at Rattle. Pours deep amber with an off white head. Sweet candy malts, bourbon sweetness, toffee, dark fruity notes, and vanilla. Just a touch too boozy, but still enjoyable.

draft at BCTC 2014. nice beer, darker quad like pour. dark fruits, raisins, bourbon notes adds a nice characteristic. bourbon feeds nicely off of base beer. solid bigguns22 (803) - Maryland, USA - AUG 10, 2014
On draft at bctc on 8/9/14. Only a 4 oz pour but all you need. A dark murkey brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is sweet and woody with lite alcohol notes. A rich full flavor beer that is very dessert like with all kinds of spice, malt and caramel flavor. Great but in small amounts. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - APR 5, 2013
Draft. Brown color. Tan head. Bourbon aroma. Sweet. Taste is super vanilla. Not used to that. Heavy alcohol burn. Not bad and better than most

Tap at The Pony Bar HK, NYC. Pours cloudy copper-brown with a creamy, tan cap. The aroma is mostly rich, boozy bourbon with nips of caramel and overripe fruits. Flavor is big and sweet with further pronounced bourbon character, some lightly torched wood, sugary toffee, some figs and golden raisins. Full bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Warm to hot finish, more caramel, high octane bourbon, toffee, subtle wood, dark and well-ripened fruits. It’s a definite sipper, and the depth and intensity rewards the patient drinker. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - MAR 16, 2012
Dark pour. Aroma has wood, booze, some spice, nice mellow vanilla bourbon notes. Flavor is sweet, a touch hot, bourbon, wood and nice spice. Warming, nice.
