Bottle. Poured reddish brown color with an average frothy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate complex tart fruit, spice and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy fruit & spice sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a good beer that exceeded my expectations. alexsdad06 (10430) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2010
750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours hazy reddish amber with a large creamy beige head. Aroma is a blend of spices, citrus peel, sweet malts, and a good dose of alcohol. The flavor is not overly spicy, but probably due to the alcohol offsetting some of it. My overall impression is this is pretty good, but needs to smooth out some. williamstome (1875) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 7, 2010
Dark cloudy ruddy brown head with off-white pour. Aroma has lots of spice, with some pine hops. Flavor is sweet malts with more spiciness. Chewy. A real treat. Nalu (217) - Washington, USA - DEC 6, 2010
Bottle. Hazy, dark amber pour with a yellow-tan head leaving minimal lace. The medium body starts sweet with ripe bananas, raisins, candy and butterscotch, but quickly develops a hint of sourness and a spicy hop character. Orange peel, cloves and cardamom are evident at varying times as the ale warms, although the candy sweetness also continues to increase with warming and a slight whiskey character appears. There is a brandy warmth which starts early and lasts long after the last sip. fiver29 (1036) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - DEC 4, 2010

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2010 Tasted on tap at Falling Rock in Denver, Colorado. Very dark brown/red appearance. Sweet belgian aroma that’s pretty dominated by candy sugar. Sweet dark dark belgian body. Definitely some spices in there like corriander and orange peel. Good beer. BrewBoxer (2636) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 28, 2010
Had from the bottle and draft. Dark reddish body with nice white thick head. Smells of spices and cloves. Tastes of banana bread and figs. Strong boozy aftertaste. The beer kind of reminds me of a hybrid between Schneider Aventinius and St. Bernardus Abt 12. Very good as is warms up. italianjohn (3139) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2010

11/20/10. 750mL bottle. Deep red pour with a somewhat fizzy off-white head that fades to a couple millimeters. Huge banana and clove aroma - HUGE banana... is this a hefe? Mixed in is the spices mentioned on the label. The flavor is the same... hugely sweet banana with some spices. Meh. Totochtin (73) - Washington, USA - NOV 17, 2010
Pours a garnet medium dark brown with fine bubbled lasting tan head. Aromas of dried cherries, banana, clove, brown sugar. Tastes sweet and mildly tart with notes of toasted marshmallow, licorice, and orange and a spicy dry finish. Full body with lively carbonation and fluffy texture. Not bad but very odd. I think I drank it a bit warmer than ideal.
