2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
I’m pretty sure all the beer ingredients are in this mix, but it tasted more like one of those cooler type college drinks that chicks will dig. Not bad, not great. Super fruity, a little musky. If the brett had anything to do with the sour, it’s lost in the fruit infusions. Just not really my thing, I guess. This is a good way to get your stubborn girl into admitting she actually DOES like beer.
Opted for a tulip due to ABV, so Im assuming this is an imperial fruit beer.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt orange color with a sly transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace to fill a cap of a little white foamy head. Mild lace.
The aroma had some cherry skin, raspberry flesh, pear, grassiness, light lemon, touch of herbal and floral character all coinciding with the funky to tart to Brett-sour quality. Light rosehips, some hay and a little bit of basement flow in underneath.
The flavor brought all of the prior mentioned aromas together - sweetly to bitter to sour and funky. Aftertaste was moderately sour, sweet and funky. Finish was quick with the sour and funk.
The palate was about medium bodied with a sturdy sipping quality about it. ABV was felt but not burdensome. Carbonation felt fine.
Overall, very nice imperial fruit ale that I would welcome again. oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 4, 2016
Pours a dark hazy golden with fluffy pinkish head. Aromas of raspberry, chocolate, and a touch of barrel funk. Flavors of raspberry, malts and finishes boozy. LadySusan (766) - Ste-Therese, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 9, 2016
750ml. bottle from Westmire beverage Albany N.Y. The aroma is sweet and fruity. The taste as above plus malt, sour notes and yeast. The fruits are of pears and strawberries. alexsdad06 (11238) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JAN 11, 2016
750 ml bottle at home from notes. Pours a hazy ruby color with a small pinkish head. The aroma and flavor have tart raspberries over top of bready malts, some Brett funk, dry, easy to drink, some additional background fruity character, decent enough fruit beer. UPDATED: FEB 8, 2015 Orange-amber with a heavy haze, a yellowish head with a slight pink twinge, creamy and moderate-fast rate of decay. Aroma is tart strawberry, hint of bubble gum, old grasses/hops, some mixed berry, a bit cloying and also cheesy tart lactic, old butter popcorn, hint of sewage... Bottled June 2011, Drink by Summer 2014 (so half a year after the drink-by date.) Body is medium-light somewhat syrup, touch of grittiness, moderate carbonation, moderate coarseness, pervasive, medium-light burn. Flavor is strawberry jam, light funky grass with a hint of old dry cheese and the slightest hint of rotting trash. Overall, a very interesting, complex combination of fruit and considerable, complex funk. Unfortunately, there’s just a bit much of cloying yuck underneath. It’s not wholly delicious.

Bottled on 6/10/11. Pours a murky brown with rose tint. Minimal off-white head. Ultra fruity nose – apples, pears, plums, cherries, raisins, and some spice. Slightly sour taste which was relatively unexpected based on the smell. The tartness was reminiscent of cranberries or possibly raspberries. Some yeast and funkiness on the back end. Sharp mouthfeel. Overall, great surprise and a nice change of pace. N3lson1 (1010) - Long Valley, New Jersey, USA - DEC 18, 2014
