There is one who foretells what is coming. How the future grows darker each day. That an ancient voice soon will be calling, and good folks will be caught in its sway.

For the soothsayer brews a magnificent ale, deep and black, through the blackest of arts. He predicts its pure notes, without secrets or spice, will tempt tongues, will turn heads, will steal hearts.

This has everything I want in a beer: malty wheat content with a funky belgian yeast and some hoppiness to balance it out. Sweet dark fruits and a finish that lingers. Dry in the back. Not much of a head but the body seems full enough. Yeast gives it a sour twang like with the BPA but this works better because of the malt content. Not that I dont like funk.

I had this beer on tap at 28 Springs in Siloam Springs, AR. This is a limited availability rotating keg at 28 and when the keg runs dry it'll be gone. Caramel on the nose, very Belgian'ish tasting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Lionheart Pubs "Belgian Independence Night" event. Very dark beer which let no light through. Head was whispy and very light in color. Aroma of burnt sour cherries. Palate of tart black cherry with a fruity sour not on the finish that lingers nicely.

The aroma is yeasty and complex with lots of malt and earth with both grassy and herbal hops. The appearance is dark brown with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall its good but not great.

750 bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Nose is burnt malts, come chocolate, and a hint of alcohol. Taste is the same with some spiciness and a bit of hotness. Smooth fluffy body. Decent but I was hoping for a bigger body on this one.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2012 Serving: draft at Fire Works Leesburg. Pours black with a light tan head. The nose has light dark fruit and roast notes. The flavor has notes of earth, roast, bubble gum, musty yeast, and stone fruit. Medium body with soft carbonation. Tasty. Updated tasting: A 750 ml bottle from Total Wine Sterling. The nose smells of old shoes and cola. The flavor has a strong anise note with notes of cola and musty hops and malt. Not appealing at all and a drain pour. Proof positive that this brew doesnt age well at all. Im leaving the rating the same based on the draft version.
