On tap at Freshcraft. Almost black with a tan head and light lacing. Aroma and flavor of chocolate, caramel, sweet malts, and dark fruits. Creamy and smooth with a medium body and a sweet finish. conway (2210) - - FEB 19, 2014
Bottle. Dark cola colored with a big tan head. Aroma is oat and roasted malt. Not getting any chocolate. Taste adds some light hop bitterness, but again not getting any chocolate. Medium chalky palate. Not bad but it's odd to me I'm not getting the chocolate. Bad bottle perhaps? SombreroKitty (9) - Union, New Jersey, USA - FEB 16, 2014 does not count
Bottle in lieu of chocolates for Valentine’s Day. Pours dark brown with a thick, tan head and an immediate strong aroma of dark chocolate. The beer is very smooth and has almost no hint of alcohol. However, the aroma is much more complex than the taste and surprisingly the flavor was more nutty and yeasty than actual chocolate. On the other hand, beers like this get cloyingly sweet, but this was definitely not. Overall, a little thin, but enjoyable and great for the occasion. johnnyoski (445) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - FEB 15, 2014
750 ml bottle. Burnt cocoa aroma. Dark chocolate and roasted malt flavors. Creamy texture with average carbonation. A tad thin but still tasty. wisdomsolo (466) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - FEB 9, 2014
Had this at a tasting. Big disappointment from Ommegang. This was super thin and had zero chocolate flavor.

Pours black with a thick tan head. Not much for aroma and fairly bland taste with hints of chocolate. Disappointing. fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - FEB 9, 2014
another chocolate stout that doesnt quite live up to its rep, this one was pretty thin and blah. jandd1983 (4318) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - FEB 7, 2014
It poured a clear amber color with a small white head. The aroma was of spicy citrus, tea and some earthy yeast. The taste was a bittersweet dark chocolate and cocoa even though the chocolate qualities aren’t extremely obvious. pfc514 (146) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - FEB 4, 2014
Pours black with two fingers of cream head in a snifter.
Pretty ok. A bit thinner on the mouthfeel than I wold want with a stout, and the chocolate isn’t nearly as pronounced as advertised. It’s there, but you have to do a bit of searching. They did a good job with accenting the belgian qualities, but the chocolate and stout elements seem to be a bit too understated for my taste. Don’t hate it, but wouldnt buy again.

Bottle. Very disappointed in this one. Very dark almost black with a medium tan head. Aroma is very much like a Belgium ale, not so much a stout. Taste is like basement, some spice, not much chocolate.
