Bottle 75cl. @ Papsoes blindtasting. [ Bottle #19. ]yespr (48968) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAY 2, 2009
Unclear dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, wood, cherry notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light metalic.
From bottle, Papsoes blindtasting #19. Pours pitch black and with a small tan head. Roasted and burned malt aroma, light metallic and dark chocolate. Light chalky touch. Roasted malty and breadish flavoured, light acidic touch. Vague smoked note. Dark roasted and vague metallic flavoured finish. Smooth chocolate like finish. Tried this both on draft at GABF 2007 and bottled, thanks to Theis. A dark brown beer with a red shine under a lazing tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of chocolate and roasted malt, the roasted malt also giving it an edge of acidity. The flavor is sweet with notes of cocoa and chocolate, as well as a touch of metal in the bottle which I didn’t detect on draft, leading to a dry roasted and bitter finish, with an acidic note from the roasted malt lingering. I prefer the draft version slightly over the bottled version, differens 0.2. joergen (29625) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 10, 2009
Pitch black coloured with a medium sized lacing beige head.
Light roasted aroma of choclate with some sweetness and notes of caramel and nuts.
Light roasted flavour of chocolate with notes of caramel and hops.
Dry roasted finish.
Could use a bit more of everything. anders37 (27667) - Malmö, SWEDEN - SEP 26, 2009

2nd ES/CS Beer Tasting. (thanks J.S.). Quite much pitch black colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is chocolate, mild roasted malts, liquorice, some toffee as well as coffee and mild nutty notes. Flavour is chocolate, liquorice, roasted malts as well as mild syrupy and sweet maltyness. Quite a bitter finish.
10th September 2008. A light stout - very light. Barely there toasted malt. Very light chocolate. A minerally finish. Very drinkable but not what was expected. Not that chocolately and not the sumptuos beer I was hoping for. Somewhat underwhelmed! Travlr (26437) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 2, 2010
Tap at Max’s. Black with a beige head. Aroma of cocoa powder and Hershey bar. Flavor of bitter chocolate and burnt espresso beans. Not too over the top. cgarvieuk (26422) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 30, 2008
Bottle at home ... thanks to a trader, who escapes me just now .... deep black with a thick off white head... roast malts and some chocolate in nose little spice and maybe a tiny touch of smokeyness... deep rich malt ... quite a lot of chocolate ... infact it seem to grow in chocolateness as its left to breath ... smooth and a little silky... medium body ... probably not Chocolate Indulgence (see southern tier chokolate for that) but it is a damn good stout Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2009
