2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
From a 750ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with moderately high carbonation. Aroma of the Belgian yeasts with mild chocolate notes. Very Belgian be and of course the yeasts are strong in the flavor giving it a very spicy character with notes of cinnamon and coriander. Chocolate is almost undetectable initially only showing up very slightly in the aftertaste. This beer is quite a dissapointment. Given the name, one would expect something rich, indulgent, and having strong chocolate character. Unfortunately, this is a disappointment as a stout and such a beer should have never been attempted using belgian yeast or belgian brewing methods. This beer could be interesting when mixed with a very strong, sweet, and rich stout such as Black Tuesday or any of the Cigar City Hunapuu's variants. Standing alone it fails as a stout or even as a uniquely flavored belgian dubble or quad.

chocolaty aroma; fantastic, smooth, slightly chocolaty flavor; not sweet, but rather a dry chocolate flavor; a great desert beer Bacchus66 (999) - South Carolina, USA - SEP 14, 2017
750ml at home. Dark brown with a full tan head. Heavy chocolate, roasted malts, toffee, caramel. Light carb. Lingering malty finish. Flavors improve with the temperature. Westy1130 (110) - New York, USA - APR 4, 2017
Rich dark appearance with frothy head. Aroma: fresh ground cocoa, and coffee beans. Deceptively bitter on the palate and not as chocolatey as it seems. very hoppy and malty. jsporrer (1144) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 8, 2017
Pours a deep dark brown to black with a big tan foamy head. Strong aroma of cocoa and sweet malts. Smooth creamy body with a medium texture. Nice cocoa taste with a hint of coffee flavor and roasted malts. Smooth finish and a decent aftertaste. Enjoyable but not that special. jsnicholas (709) - Woodinville, Washington, USA - SEP 14, 2016

Pours a nice deep dark brown(almost black) color. Aromas of chocolate, smoke, and some sweetness. Flavor is dark chocolate, a touch of berry, and smokey. Creamy with a dry finish and a bittersweet aftertaste. NikkTwist (3406) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2016
Draft at Bru Craft. Black pour with thick khaki foam. Large splashes of lace. Dark milk cocoa. Burnt roasted nuts. Sarsaparilla. Prune juice. Vanilla beans. Blackberries. Medium-full body. Wish it was creamier. N3lson1 (1010) - Long Valley, New Jersey, USA - APR 26, 2016
Drank from a pint glass, poured from a 750mL bottle. Pours a beautiful, dark, velvety black, with plenty of thick frothy head, an absolute beautiful looking brew! Strong aromas of chocolate, with a slight note of Belgian yeast. Nice chocolaty smoothness without being overpowering, just a wonderful, amazing brew! johnnymusky (1004) - Minnesota, USA - FEB 14, 2016
