Duvel Rustica Golden Ale is our long-anticipated collaboration with Duvel. It’s our first Belgian-style Golden Ale, a elegant ale noted for using simple ingredients to create complex flavors and aromas. We worked closely with Duvel on the recipe and processes, yet added our own signature notes. This Duvel collaboration created a fine ale, one with all the depth and breadth of Duvel’s classic Belgian Golden Ale, along with rustic notes, including fruity esters from our yeast. In keeping with our rustic farmstead roots, Rustica pours a golden hue, the aroma and flavor mixes maltiness and citrus from hops while the yeast produces notable fruitiness. The body is lean and rounded, while the finish offers dry warmth & firm hop bitterness.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Hazy gold pour with a tall, foamy white head. Strong yeast and fruit notes in the aroma along with straw, toasted grains, sweet malt and flowers. Taste is sweet malt, candied fruit, grains, straw, strong yeast, flowers, and sponge cake. Body is medium with a strong, lively carbonation. Finishes with more sweet malt notes, candied fruit, light bread, soft grains, yeast straw and cake notes. Tasty!

On tap at Tap and Mallet. Served to me with 1/3rd of the 12 oz glass foam. Not too happy about that. Pours a slightly hazy straw color with a large frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of peach, stone fruits, corn and bready notes. The taste is herbal, bubblegum, cherries and some fruits. Medium bodied with a lingering bitterness.

On tap: pour is cloudy light gold with a modest fine bubbled white head in.this tulip. Average to poor retention and light lacing is present here. The nose reveals sweet bread, cloves.and.spices, and a hint of.cinnamon. a fruitiness is present.in pear.and peach by my estimation. I think the nose is the highlight for me, because.this one.comes.across a little messy. Bitter, fruity, and sweet initially. There’s a hint of vinousness here, with more sweet bread and while there’s a Belgian side here I’m not impressed at all

On tap at Capone’s Restaurant. Cloudy dark yellow, wheaty and slightly yeasty in aroma. Leaves thick lace. A Belgian ale, with an above average mouthfeel. A sipper, not super drinkability.

750 ml. Thank to my buddy Adam Jackson in a trade. Used my Duvel Artist series Tulip. Cellar temperature shows a nice nose of floral hops, bubble gum, Belgian yeast and pils malt. This seems every bit of a Duvel clone using Ommegang house yeast. And for me that’s a good thing. Complex flavors with light sweetness and notes of fruits, lemons, banana esters. Solid amount of spice, a touch bit of farmhouse funk, and spicy bitterness. Light bodied with a dry, crisp finish. The only major flaw is the noticeable ABV. Other than that this is a nice brew.

Lightly hazy color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of noble hops, grass, pils malt, some citrus, and light spices. Taste of honey, pils malt, grass, spices and a dry finish with light alcohol.

Pale golden yellow pour, thin white head ... aroma of floral noble hops and spicy fruity yeast .... taste of sweet fruity yeast, caramel malts, spicy floral and noble hops .... has almost an identical flavor to duvel green ... finish is very dry fresh and hoppy with a lingering floral hop bite ... mouthfeel is crisp and little oily .. simple tasty with the abv hidden well

750, corked and baled. Pours a slightly hazy medium gold with a loose white head that settles quickly. Intermittent drippy lace. Big honey nose, the familiar hay and lemon are still there but they’re joined now by a sweet and floral note from the yeast esters. Creamy medium body, almost fizzy, but not quite. Hay, lemons, honey, and flowers on the mid palate, with a bit of herb presence. Mild tangy honey floral finish. Nice beer somewhere between a strong golden and a big saison.

This is a really nice Belgian Strong, comparable to Duvel. Has a nice banana, pepper, and a small amount of citrus. Pours gold and hazy. Bought at on the rocks in Lawrence in 2012.

Mildly opaque gold, nice white lacy head. Aroma is yeasty and fresh. Flavor is lightly hoppy, with notes of dried froots. Sweet, complex and tasty. Sharp dry finish. Great!
