COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Duvel Rustica Golden Ale is our long-anticipated collaboration with Duvel. It’s our first Belgian-style Golden Ale, a elegant ale noted for using simple ingredients to create complex flavors and aromas. We worked closely with Duvel on the recipe and processes, yet added our own signature notes. This Duvel collaboration created a fine ale, one with all the depth and breadth of Duvel’s classic Belgian Golden Ale, along with rustic notes, including fruity esters from our yeast. In keeping with our rustic farmstead roots, Rustica pours a golden hue, the aroma and flavor mixes maltiness and citrus from hops while the yeast produces notable fruitiness. The body is lean and rounded, while the finish offers dry warmth & firm hop bitterness.

Picked this up about 4 months ago in Vermont.

A - Nice gold clarity, although a few specs of yeast or hops still floating around

S - Smells like granny smith apples, grape skins and juicy juice box juice.

T - Sweet, hint of funkiness and some barnyard with a very almost ashtray like finish. Very moldy / muddy, could be confused with earthy but nope. Great start just like Duvel. Finish is not forgettable in a bad way.

M - Nice carbonation

O - It’s a shame this isn’t very good. Not a drain pour but close.

If I am going to drink a beer above eight percent, I expect more flavor. Pours light gold, thin, and with a tiny amount of head. The flavor seemed synthetic. Yes, that description is not very qualitative, but synthetic was the term that came to mind. Not my thing. Bottle - Leon’s Full Service - Decatur, GA

750ml bottle in a Trappist glass. Pours cloudy golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, a lot of banana, some floral hops, and pale malts. Flavor about the same, with a nice blend of everything but a little too much banana. Average texture. A decent Belgian style beer.

On tap, golden yellow pour with white foam, a better Duvel than Duvel, bright fruity flavors with interesting funky yeast aroma, clean finish

750 ml. corked n’ caged bottle- Pours cloudy golden with a one finger white head. Aroma is very yeasty, pepper. Taste is very creamy and delicious, yeasty, peppery, not much barnyard which is what I was hoping for, but this is good, classic tasting. Body is medium, carbonation is medium, finish is creamy and mouth coating. Overall I am not going to go into if this is better than regular old Duvel, which is a wonderful beer. This beer deserves it’s own identity in my opinion, I loved it, very classic Belgian taste, drinkable as hell (whatever that means!), awesome and I would definitely have this again.
