Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Very fruity, estery nose, quite floral, yeasty and citrus zesty, too. Hazy dark blonde color, frothy head, with a coating of lace, and a lot of sediment dancing around with the carbonation. Sweet malty initial flavor, citrus, peaches, apples. Light peppery hops, which turn a little grassy in late mid palate. Light lingering sweet fruit finish. Very interesting stuff. Aromas are those of a strong ale (maybe a tripel); flavors are more like a saison. Great stuff. MetalNHopHead (1976) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - DEC 2, 2016
Fleur de Houblon is the kind of Belgian Ale that seems like it only could’ve been made by monastic brewers. It’s that pairing of old-world taste and timeless beauty. Knockout looks - lightly hazy gold, incredibly good head retention. Funky, earthy, and dank nose. Floral hops and spicy yeast. Flavors are lemony, peppery, bready, and mildly hoppy. Super dry palate. The hops admittedly give Fleur de Houblon a certain American flair, yet it doesn’t seem totally out of character for the style. A very complex and lovely beer. hershiser2 (3218) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - OCT 17, 2016
$2.79 bottle from Market Street Wine Shop, Downtown. Pours hazy golden with a massive soft off-white head. Yummy floral aroma - spring flowers, along with banana and spice. Flavor is slightly sweet rose water, banana, more flowers - violets even. Some lemon, some fun, some deliciousness. Damn this is nice. Damn I’m usually not big on Ommegang beers but this one knocked it outta the park. Drank this in the beginning of fall but so with I had found this in the summer. I would’ve gone through a case of it. Aroma was awesome. Peppery yeast and lemon peel were big and dominant with a slight hippiness to it. Pour was a nice light hazy gold with a one finger white head. Taste was like the aroma. Lemony and yeasty with a bit of funk and stale hops throughout. Nice bitter and dry finish. That Ommegang yeast is front and center but not overpowering or bubblegummy. Medium carbonation. Probably my favorite Ommegang beer I’ve ever had. ben4321 (6502) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 21, 2016
Draft at Smithfield Hall. Unclear yellowish-gold. Frothy white head and lots of lacing. Belgian yeast and clove, spice, and citrus fruit. Melon and mango notes. Fairly sweet, yeasty, and spicy taste. Clean, mid-plus bodied mouthfeel. Nice drinkablity overall. Good beer.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours a semi-clear dark amber brown colored brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of golden malt, Belgian yeast, and a touch of earthy spice. Taste is medium bodied with plenty of carbonation. Flavors of hard fruits, Belgian yeast, a hint of candi sugar. Finish has a sparkly carbonated Belgian ale aftertaste with some hard fruits that slowly disappears leaving a yeast aftertaste. A solid Belgian ale overall. slightly cloudy gold - light amber color with a thick white head; spicy Belgian yeast and citrusy hop aroma; nice, spicy Belgian yeast flavor with saison-like pepper notes with citrusy hop notes; dry, spicy finish; well balanced; very refreshing ebone1988 (1918) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - AUG 10, 2016
Aroma is dusty, fruity, tropical fruit hops, barnyard, banana, good. Appearance is hazy golden amber, off white head. Taste is spice, fruity, earthy and pine hops, fruit, dusty, barnyard, I’d say it has a more "in your face" approach than Orval. Mouthfeel is light body, light crisp carbonation, a wonderful dry fruity and piny aftertaste. Overall, this is very very good. ttoadee (1491) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 30, 2016
Cloudy golden sunshine with 2 fingers of white lace trailing meringue, disguised as a head. Nose is herbal. Middle is soft creamy grain bill, herbs, wood and earth. Finish is fruity, floral and lightly bittersweet. Excellent beer from a solid brewer. gripweed57 (2452) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - JUL 26, 2016
12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy honey gold color. Large rocky white head with clinging lace. Floral fresh hop aroma. Yeasty notes as well. Bready, sweet citrus malt flavor upfront. A touch of bitter lemon peel in middle. Dryish, spicy hop notes in finish. Well balanced and refreshing.
