Nothing is more evocative of summer than the beautiful aroma of flowers, and the favored flowers of brewers are hops. Our brand new summer ale, Fleur de Houblon (Hop Flowers), is brewed to bring the many elements of summer into a refreshing and easy-to-drink Belgian-style ale. Fleur de Houblon is a rich gold color with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. Whole-cone Bravo hops are used to impart their earthy, fruity, and floral aromas and flavors. The body and flavor are clean and dry, with pleasing complexity and spicy notes from both primary and secondary fermentation with our unique Ommegang house yeast.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is very floral, living up to its name; its also peppery, Belgian yeast phenols--clove is prominent, dusty basement. Pours hazy gold with a giant white soapy head; leaves some lace. Taste is sweet, savory and earthy before turning lightly bitter; also some candy sweetness lingers in the finish. A little thin, carbonation a little too low for my liking. Even with the palate flaws, this is a fine beer.

Draught @ Brouwers Caf:   Bright and clear golden, moderate white frothy head, little lacing.   Vibrant grassiness, a little hay and straw, pale floral notes.   Pale straw, a little dusty and musty.   Not as bright as the nose suggests.   Wished it were more floral.   Seems a touch herbal.   Its light, clean, and easy drinking.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft sweet straw and hay on the finish.   Just a smidgen or floral or herbal notes.   Wished it were brighter.

Growler from Lizardville Bedford Hghts. I have had this four times and forgotten to rate it each time, so here go from memory of last night when I drank a whole growler. Very pale hazy straw yellow with fluffy white head and lace. Floral bready lemon pastry aroma. Mild fruity apricot sweetness with bready yeasty floral spicy clean finish. Light and refreshing with effervescent carbo. More details next time because this is not a one-time-try-it-and-rate-it beer. Fucking excellent.

Pours a somewhat cloudy straw color with a big white head. Aroma is grass, citrus rind, floral hops, grains and lightly fruity yeast. Taste is refreshing and well balanced. Grainy bread, citrus rind, floral hops, lightly fruity yeast, straw. Solid session. I like it.

Clear golden colored pour. Big white head that sticks around for quite a while. Plenty of lacing. Nice aroma of hops, malt and yeast. Much akin to Duvel Dry Hopping series. Taste is hoppy and malty with the familiar notes of Belgian yeast. Very good.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, light golden color and lots of carbonation. Strong citrus aromas pleasing to the nose. Light sweet taste on the tongue. Lively carbonation on the palate and a nice medium body. Overall a nicely balanced summer beer with lots to bring to the table, highly recommended
