This just might be my new favorite summer ale. Nice and light beer with great depth of flavor. Very light foamy head and beautiful light amber color. Delicious! dan_lipcan (6) - - JUN 15, 2013 does not count
From bottle into glass. Great lemony color with light lacing foam, nice light mouth feel with some fizz, citrusy taste with a little spice. Worth having a case available in the basement!

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2015 Lemon orange nose, nicely carbonated, pillowy head that laces the glass, tastes tart, hoppy, delicious. Tastes like a Belgian crossed with an IPA. Love it. tsd08460 (1165) - Marshall, Virginia, USA - JUL 14, 2016

Fleur de Houblon is the kind of Belgian Ale that seems like it only could’ve been made by monastic brewers. It’s that pairing of old-world taste and timeless beauty. Knockout looks - lightly hazy gold, incredibly good head retention. Funky, earthy, and dank nose. Floral hops and spicy yeast. Flavors are lemony, peppery, bready, and mildly hoppy. Super dry palate. The hops admittedly give Fleur de Houblon a certain American flair, yet it doesn’t seem totally out of character for the style. A very complex and lovely beer.

I had this at Global Brew. The aroma is very nice. Pours a gold color with a nice head. Taste is a citrus with nice hop flavor. This is really good. I would definitely drink this again.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 6.8 % abv and there is a nice short description of the beer.
Appearance: The look of the body is cloudy and the color is a light golden hue. It’s head is tall bright white in color and long lasting. It slowly settles to a thin creamy foam covering which leaves nice lace patterns on the glass.
Smell: Fleur De Houblon has a classic Belgian character. Pale light grain with classic spicey Ommegang yeast mixed with some light citrusy, grassy and spicy hops.
Taste / Palate: The nose and tongue are right on the same page. The base is light pale grain with white pepper and clove like spicy yeast. It also brings a light and pleasant Belgian funk/barnyard note to the mix. Hops add a touch of dryness and mild bitterness along with balanced grassy, floral and citrusy lemon flavor notes. The palate is on and very easy drinking. It feels smooth and creamy yet still lively with carbonation.
Notes: In my opinion Ommegang just keeps on hitting home runs and this is no exception!

Pale golden body was hazy, and a large four finger thick head formed rapidly, despite me pouring the beer very gently. The look reminded me a lot of Duvel, but the floral hoppy smell was evocative more of an IPA. Besides the hops, there were spicy, dusty smells imparted by the house yeast strain. The taste was a great combination of typical Belgian Pale Ale flavors, of banana, papaya, melon, and white pepper, and a distinctive hop character. The finish was somewhat tart, and spicy. The body was light and alcohol well hidden. A very easy to drink beer with a refreshing take on the style. rangerred (989) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - JUL 16, 2013
12 oz bottle into a tulip.
Pours a hazy straw yellow with a substantial foamy white head nearly spilling out of the glass. Outstanding head retention and thick globs of lacing.
The aroma fits the style perfectly. Spicy lemon and orange peel along with great yeast esters. Bread and cracker crumbs in the background with some flowers. Just really amazing in every way possible.
The flavor is just as great as the aroma with juicy orange and lemon up front with a quick hit of coriander. Spicy Belgian yeast is present throughout and a very nice bready malt base. Light bitterness and a very light spritzy mouthfeel.
Overall, an amzing enjoyable beer. I don’t believe I have had a bad beer from this brewery and this one is just perfect for summer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass, light golden color and lots of carbonation. Strong citrus aromas pleasing to the nose. Light sweet taste on the tongue. Lively carbonation on the palate and a nice medium body. Overall a nicely balanced summer beer with lots to bring to the table, highly recommended
