Collaboration with HBO for the Game of Thrones series.

Blonde ale with malty sweetness and a touch of fruity spiciness, Noble Hops aromas and notes of citrus. Suitable to serve to kings, or pretenders to the iron throne.

Pour slowly so as to not disturb the yeast sediment, but with enough vigor to create a luxurious head and release the rich bouquet.

This actually surprised me. I hadn’t read anything about this beer or known anybody who tried it and had it on a whim. Just the right amount of sweetness to this one, perfect carbonation. Very yeasty and some orange flavor. Will be picking up some more.

Light in body, slightly lemony/citrus. Finishes with nice bittering hop notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Presentation: 750mL brown bottle with a "bottled on" date and a "best by" date printed on the neck. Served in an oversized wine glass. Appearance: It has a cloudy pale yellow color with a fluffy, white, 2 finger head that sticks around and leaves lots of lacing. Smell: It has a dominant spice aroma, courtesy of the grains of paradise. It’s a very peppery smell, but there is also a whiff of banana and some malt in the background. Taste: It’s quite spicy, just like the nose, with a pepper taste at the forefront. There’s some citrus and alcohol notes as well. Mouthfeel: It’s highly carbonated, with a medium body. It’s smooth and creamy with a clean finish. Overall: A solid brew but nothing extraordinary. I don’t get the Game of Thrones tie-in or the Iron Throne name, seeing this is a pretty tame drink. It’s something cool to have if you’re a fan of the books or the series, but it’s not worth the price tag for everybody else. This is supposed to be the first in a series, so lets hope Ommegang can step it up and create something a bit more special and unique.

I really dig this style, wasn’t expecting a big hoppy beer. Love hennepin !yeastly and lemon, very cloudy . Could be a little stronger, it is what it is, and I need more. Enjoy while you can , getting more tomorrow before it’s all gone.

Nice aroma. Good color, I'd prefer it to be unfiltered but you can't win em all. Taste is smooth hints of lemon very nice. Finishes smooth with a nice aftertaste. Currently on draught at the Excelsior Pub Room Albany NY. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden color with a decent white head and fruity aroma. Taste is very fruity with a hint of spice at the end. Normally a brew like this is too light for me but I must say I really liked it and think it night be the best of this series.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2016 One of the finest I’ve tasted and it was the beer that started my trek toward drinking craft brews. A full, rich, brew with a surprisingly light touch on the palate considering the amount of sediment left on the bottom after being capped. I hope they bring it back as an anniversary offering.
