750ml bottle shared with Anndiesel. Big beige head on top of an opaque black body. Full bodied, roasty, well balanced. A really well done Stout. I could have probably done without the Anise and Licorice Root but they are mild and well incorporated. Really well executed. Solid. bergstaden (3452) - Røros, NORWAY - OCT 2, 2017

I am not into Game of Thrones but something about this release caught my eye. I finally got around to sampling it a few weeks ago. The beer has held up surprisingly well though I would not recommend waiting too much longer. I might even have to spring for one or two more special Ommegang releases in the future.
Aroma / Appearance - Inky black liquid consumes the glass. A sticky leg of dusty colored head crawls downwards. Black coffee, malts, and licorice enrich the air with a clear message - this beer will be an intense stout.
Flavor / Palate - Malt, coffee, and black raspberries slowly unfold on the tip of the tongue. They then blossom into a dense texture with few bells and whistles beyond the flavors you get on the first sip. Even so as long as thi line remains affordable I might grab one from time to time for novelty’s sake.
Bottle sample at a tasting at Lior’s place. Thanks DSG. Opaque black with brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, wood, some cherry and licorice, a bit smoked. Sweetish flavor, alcoholic with notes of licorice, anice, wood, bitterish, lots of roastiness, ash. Very carbonated, full-bodied. Very nice.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks Alexey for this bottle! Black with a beige head. Roast, caramel, chocolate, some licorice, light smokiness, some ash, bittersweet. Medium-bodied. Good. yngwie (17480) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 11, 2017
Bottle, 75cl corked, shared by bergstaden. A dark brown beer with a dense, finger-thick beige head. The aroma has a good dash of licorice, with chocolate, oatmeal, coffee and mocha. It’s full-bodied, smooth and lightly warming, with a nice carbonation level. Roasted malts, prunes and figs, mocha, oatmeal cookies and some licorice in the flavor, followed by a good dash of bitterness. Lasting roasted and pleasantly bittered finish. Nice indeed, but there’s something missing that I can’t pin point. 170311 Meilby (11830) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 11, 2017
