COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fire & Blood is a 6.8% ABV Red ale, brewed with pilsner, Cara-60, Midnight Wheat, flaked rye and spelt. Assertive hopping includes CTZ, Styrian Golding and German Tettnang hops. Spiced with de-seeded Ancho chilies. Fire & Blood has a deep, dark red hue with a persistent, creamy, off-white head. Aromas of ripe fruit, raisins, malt & slight spice, followed by a slightly floral and spicy hop character. A fruity, sweetish malt taste gives way to faint drying provided by the hops & rye.

Pours plum color with large cream head. Dark fruit and some malt in nose. More hoppy and bitter than I expected.

Dark red color with a large head. Aroma of wheat and light red pepper. Yeasty flavor. Light sweet malt and raisin flavor. The pepper has almost completely faded out. Medium body.

Scrumptious little gem with the Ancho chili’s. Delicious and yeasty, good setiment. Overall a great beer for the price!

Bottle from Petaluma Market, CA. Aromas of red fruit, funky yeast. Taste is red berries, some herbal resinous, and a slightly spicy finish. Definitely tastes 6.8%. Drinkable, but subtle for its strength.

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours an opaque dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of spices, earthy bready malt, and light red fruits. Flavour is unusual, with notes of spices, earthy, bubblegum, and an astringent hippiness on the finish. Not sure the flavours are in harmony here. There’s a weird spicy herbal quality to this. Not convincing, but certainly not bad.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark amber color, hazy, with compact head. This red ale has a lean and clean caramel profile, rather dry, it could as well be a Bock; the bitterness is moderate; there could be a light smoke touch in the aroma. It has a not of sweetness in the final, a spicy touch, and mild fruity esters.
Balanced, elegant, well made although not the most complex beer.

Draught. Reddish murky brown with creamy off-white head, light caramel aroma, low carbonation, caramel taste, longish finish. Very nicely packaged brew.

750 ml bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a darker red with a creamy head of foam. The aroma has dark fruits, raisins, a bit of leather, and then there are some floral hoppy notes. Taste is sweet mostly, but dries out nicely. Medium carbonation and big body. Not bad.

Had a bottle last Sunday with GOT on HBO. Pours an amber with a solid two finger head in a snifter. Aroma is prunes, raisins, some Belgian yeasts, and some dankness. The taste was mediocre at best with some light prunes, raisins, an acidic aftertaste, and Belgian yeasts. I think my bottle may have been somewhat infected. Had to end up dumping the second half of the bottle. Very rare for me. Heavy carb, light body.

Bottle from craft. Nice notes of raisin, spice, rye, caramel and hop. Nice sweet and spiced flavor...a bit warming.
