This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

I'm surprised by the maltiness of this ale. Has a terrific sweet malt flavor. Looks great in the glass, cloudy honey appearance with a great Belgian-like head of froth. Slight citrus aroma and good hop character. Also reminds me of some German beers I've had. I find this very unique as with many Belgian recreations. Nice Ale!

Saison-y and trippely, in my book, good but initially quite sweet. Alternating flavors (earth, lemon) cut the sweetness through the finish.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2007 Definately a good brew. Nice white head tops a murky blonde pour. Very citric (sweet) and flowery aroma with a hint of dough. Flowery aroma blends with the maltiness nicely. Decent brew, worth trying quite a few times.

Trtying very hard to extinguish prejudice held for absolutely no reason. not sure what it stems from other than perhaps the notion that many beers created in US that make Belgian references are just contaminated. Not so with this obviously. Good beer. Hazy piss colored. Immediate metallic tinge that struck me from the hops. Subsequently diminished, yet remained throughout - nearing the end of bottle and definitly still note it. Fruity, light bodied. Yes, I could see it as an apertif. Really quite a bit better than my rating might suggest.

Absolutely a great beer. A very complicated flavor, and not as good unless you pour a big foamy head and let it settle.

This beer poured out beautifully with a full head. It had a nice fruity aroma and flavor, a little spicy, a little hoppy--overall well balanced and fairly complex.

Not a bad Saison style beer. It is a shame that the company has been sold. According to M. Jackson It will never be the same

Hazy yellow with quickly-dissipating big head. Taste matches aroma -- moderately sweet, orange and spicy (coriander +), some yeast and breadiness. Medium body, quite quaffable.

Slightly hazy golden colour with a little hint of orange. A very large bubbled white head which fades fast. Small bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass very often, which makes it look like a fine champagne. A definate yeasty smell, with not much else in the nose. A good medium bodied taste with noticable hoppyness. A good all-around beer, with some malt in the aftertaste. Definately worth a taste if you can get your hands on a bottle. Its a cheap beer up in the Northeast, so definately go for the deal!

Expected more from the nose but it wasn't there! Nice head, very carbonated. Spicey/Malty not a lot of anything but many different tastes. Good Drinking!
