COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style is a farmhouse ale, and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons. Hennepin is a delicious brew for all seasons, it is spicy and refreshing. A moderately hoppy, farmhouse-style ale with a champagne-like effervescence, Hennepin has a crisp start followed by malt sweetness balanced with a firm bitterness. Hennepin has a bounty of great flavors: ginger, spice, orange and toasted grain. Pouring a bright golden color with a spicy-sweet balance of orange peel, sweet malt, hops and ginger, Hennepin makes way for a dry finish with a slight bite of ginger.

Really outstanding stuff. This and boulevard tank 7 are my two favorite saisons. Light and crisp but with a depth of flavor and a smooth long finish. No bitterness at all. Lovely.

One of my favorites. Pillowy 3-finger pour. Malty alcohol aroma with a hint of banana. Light and crisp with hints of lemon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap in pint glass at Cask and Vine. Appearance is hazy-to-cloudy light yellow without sparkle, finger-width white head without lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, fruity esters. Taste is nice fruity esters, Belgian yeast with some citrus. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and finish like taste. Overall, a solid representation of the style.

Bottle from World Beer Market/Sake Taniguchi. Slightly hazy straw gold, foamy head that doesn’t leave. Citrus and coriander aroma, funky notes, Belgian yeast, champagne. Taste follows, lemon, apricot, orange, with spice and funk pushing through mid-palate. Medium-bodied, decent carbonation, crisp and dry finish. Really lovely, much closer to the Belgian style than most brewers saisons these days.

Pours a bright golden yellow with fizzy head. Aromas of tropical fruits and some citrus peel. Funky orange/lemon peel flavors with a nice woody funk.

Tap at Bar Hop. Almost transparant orangey amber with good white head, excellent retention and lace. The aroma is tropical and sourish fruity and a bit funky. Fruity, tartish bittersweet, dusty, grainy and kinda wheaty flavour. Really refreshing yet with a rather dry and dusty mouthfeel. A bit difficult to pick up the outstandingness of the brew as I’m having it from a stupid straight-up sample glass but it’s very good nonetheless.

This saison almost resembles a witbier with slightly more yeasty notes and some mild lemon peel or citrus in the aroma. It pours hazy straw with a creamy head that slowly dissipates. Looks gorgeous in a chalice. The carbonation feels great and adds to the fresh taste of this beer. There’s a bit of a grassy finish but not in a bad way. Alcohol is 7.7% yet it’s barely discernible. Nice refreshing beer for the summer.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2016 750ml bottle from Canada Craft club. Aroma: nose of banana, spices, fresh cereals. App: clear golden, medium white head ever lasting, lacing covering almost fully the glass. Taste and palate: medium body, light sweetness, lively carbonation, light lingering bitter and light burning alcohol finish. Overall: a great surprise. Honestly it’s been waiting for 2 months in my fridge, I didn’t want to drink it as I thought I wouldn’t like it. Great surprise. Wasn’t expecting this great banana aroma and taste. I’m not sure I’ll be able to drink this bottle all by myself because of the strong banana taste and the champagne like carbonation might be overwhelming at some point but so far I enjoy every sip of it. Really refreshing even though it’s abv.
