COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style is a farmhouse ale, and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons. Hennepin is a delicious brew for all seasons, it is spicy and refreshing. A moderately hoppy, farmhouse-style ale with a champagne-like effervescence, Hennepin has a crisp start followed by malt sweetness balanced with a firm bitterness. Hennepin has a bounty of great flavors: ginger, spice, orange and toasted grain. Pouring a bright golden color with a spicy-sweet balance of orange peel, sweet malt, hops and ginger, Hennepin makes way for a dry finish with a slight bite of ginger.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2016 750ml bottle from Canada Craft club. Aroma: nose of banana, spices, fresh cereals. App: clear golden, medium white head ever lasting, lacing covering almost fully the glass. Taste and palate: medium body, light sweetness, lively carbonation, light lingering bitter and light burning alcohol finish. Overall: a great surprise. Honestly it’s been waiting for 2 months in my fridge, I didn’t want to drink it as I thought I wouldn’t like it. Great surprise. Wasn’t expecting this great banana aroma and taste. I’m not sure I’ll be able to drink this bottle all by myself because of the strong banana taste and the champagne like carbonation might be overwhelming at some point but so far I enjoy every sip of it. Really refreshing even though it’s abv.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2016 Aroma is banana, clove, dry, barnyard, not much ginger or orange peel. Appearance is hazy, golden, white head. Taste is nice, citrus, orange peel, barnyard, dust, banana, clove, spices, tropical fruit, pine, complex and really really good. Mouthfeel is medium body, light but crisp carbonation, a nice citrus and dust coats the mouth in the aftertaste. Overall, yowza. This one is quite enjoyable.

The beer pours a hazed medium gold with a generous white cap that lasts. The aroma is barnyard funk, citrus and yeast. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is funky grains, light spices, yeast, and citrus. Pairs well with a banana for a vacation breakfast.

Hazy, pale golden in colour. Substantial foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of straw, banana, estery, alcohol, clove. Taste of lemon, straw, some banana, lots of fruity-estery notes. Full bodied, with a creamy, coating mouthfeel. Lively carbonation and a long, lingering finish. Really quite nice.

Draft @ Aloft BUF. Slight flowery aroma. Clear golden color with thin white head that dissipates quickly. Nice, typical saison flavor (little peppery, etc). Little lighter than med bodied. Overall, a pretty good saison.

On tap at Ten 22. Pours a golden color with a bit of head. Lots of hops overpower a little, though the farmhouse yeast flavors seem very mild anyway.

From notes (Aug 2015). Effervescent, spicy, clean, and refreshing. It was a really good palate cleanser on a hot August day.

Originally rated on 7/17/08. Upon pouring a huge white foamy head that lasted longer than the beer, a very cloudy orangish- yellow fully carbonated body. Aroma was a little fruity, malty and mild spice. Flavor was similar but with a pronounced alcohol presence. A pretty decent brew.
