COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style is a farmhouse ale, and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons. Hennepin is a delicious brew for all seasons, it is spicy and refreshing. A moderately hoppy, farmhouse-style ale with a champagne-like effervescence, Hennepin has a crisp start followed by malt sweetness balanced with a firm bitterness. Hennepin has a bounty of great flavors: ginger, spice, orange and toasted grain. Pouring a bright golden color with a spicy-sweet balance of orange peel, sweet malt, hops and ginger, Hennepin makes way for a dry finish with a slight bite of ginger.

12oz bottle poured with yeast into tulip after warming slightly above refrigerated temp; tall but thin lumpy head; deep golden and hazy; pleasant complex and slightly alcoholic nose; lightly bitter, lightly sour; medium body, lively carbonation, long warming finish; would enjoy on a bale of hay watching the summer or autumn sunset

Light haze in a medium yellow color. Nice aroma with some banana, coriander, yeasts and Belgium quality. Taste is full and slightly sweet with balanced spice. Palate is full and finishes rich. Tap

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy gold color with a thin white head that lasts. Aroma is similar to a Hefeweizen: a little bready, banana, clove, yeast and a touch of sourness. Medium body, taste echoes the aroma with a bunch of carbonation on the tongue. Finish is slightly tart with some of the yeast coming through. Excellent!

Tap at Whole Foods Omaha location. Pours slightly hazy with lasting white head. Aroma was musty, citrus and yeast. Taste was club soda/champaign mouthfeel with sweet, peppery and tart characteristic. Good.

Poured from a bottle. Pours a bright amber with a large, thick, white foamy head. Very effervescent. Slightly cloudy due to the numerous tiny bubbles. Nice aroma of bready yeast and tart citrus. Semi thick creamy texture. Flavor similar to a Weizenbier. Spicy clove, bready yeast, and tart citrus with a slight bite on the sides of the tongue and roof of the mouth. Crisp and refreshing with just a hint of bitterness and a slightly dry finish. Not my favorite but pretty enjoyable.

Yellow gold, heady, heavy carbonated. Grassy lemon, skunky, nobel hop like hoppy pilsner. Hints of fruit. Pepper. Taste is carbonated, sweet lemon bready, grassy, kinda minty with sweet light caramel malt. A lot of lemon. Kinda buttery. Clove, maybe banana, mild esters.

Even the beers from Ommegang that aren’t outstanding are still worlds better than the same brews from a lot of other brewers. Ommegang just brews with magic, and the Hennepin is evidence of that: pretty pale color, fruitful, but not too sweet taste, and a smooth finish. Great beer.

Nice smooth flavor. Good appearance. Great for casual, every day, non-pretentious drinking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
