COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style is a farmhouse ale, and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons. Hennepin is a delicious brew for all seasons, it is spicy and refreshing. A moderately hoppy, farmhouse-style ale with a champagne-like effervescence, Hennepin has a crisp start followed by malt sweetness balanced with a firm bitterness. Hennepin has a bounty of great flavors: ginger, spice, orange and toasted grain. Pouring a bright golden color with a spicy-sweet balance of orange peel, sweet malt, hops and ginger, Hennepin makes way for a dry finish with a slight bite of ginger.

*12 oz. bottle* Look: Hazy golden blonde body, 1 1/2 finger white soapy head. Smell: Tart citrus, spices, hay, yeasty, hints of earthy quality tobacco, mild funk. Taste: Tart citrus (Lemon peel) wheat and oats, honey, hint of a fruit (pear), sweet and dry and slightly sour. Feel: Medium-light body, very active carbonation. Overall: This is very delicious. One of the prime examples of the style. I have no problem drinking a four pack of this all Summer/Fall long. For it being almost 8% it isnt detectable. This brew is recommended.

The pour is a translucent pale gold with a soapy white head. The aroma is of lemon, orange, mild spices, and some light floral notes. The mouthfeel is very soda-like with stinging carbonation. The initial flavour, as the brew comes in contact with the taste buds, is very yeasty. As the brew passes the tongue, sharp citrus notes explode and mingle with the rounded yeasty notes. Its when the rounded yeast and the sharp citrus combine you start to taste some banana. As you exhale, spices explode for a second before it almost instantaneously subdues making it a really nice complementary flavour. The finish is lightly dry due to the hops and sharp citrus. This is a very well-rounded beer. Im not usually a big fan of saisons, but this one is delicious.

Amazing fruitiness and herbiness in the aroma. Slightly cloudy, golden appearance with a pillowy head. Nicely high level of carbonation on the tongue. Tastes wonderful! Has a moderate funkiness to go with the fruity and herbal notes. One of my absolute favorite beers.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2005 New York State has a lot going for it. It is the capitial of an economic empire and the home of Brewery Ommegang. This is an excellent beer. The color is a nice cloudy medium yellow, with a beautiful long lasting head. The taste is to my tooth, dry, with a slightly sweet aftertaste.

Thick white head, well carbonated with a bit of funk and leathery aromas coming through. Light malt character with hints for toast and grain. Grassy, herb hop notes, with a slightly dry finish.

Bottle. Hazy light gold with a thick, fluffy, white head. Looks Belgian. Typical Belgian-style nose with citrus, banana, alcohol, and yeast. Nice, balanced flavor with incredible mouthfeel; each individual bubble seems to multiply in your mouth. A slight American bitterness and even astringency lingers, which actually is a positive attribute in my book.

Bottled, while it was crisp and refreshing, this was just way too sweet for me, tasted like grenadine.
