COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style is a farmhouse ale, and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons. Hennepin is a delicious brew for all seasons, it is spicy and refreshing. A moderately hoppy, farmhouse-style ale with a champagne-like effervescence, Hennepin has a crisp start followed by malt sweetness balanced with a firm bitterness. Hennepin has a bounty of great flavors: ginger, spice, orange and toasted grain. Pouring a bright golden color with a spicy-sweet balance of orange peel, sweet malt, hops and ginger, Hennepin makes way for a dry finish with a slight bite of ginger.

750ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) shared by JK54B - thanks!
Hazy pale orange, small persistent tight head. Sharp sour fruity aroma - citrus. Soft palate, pleasant carbonation. Tangy hops, but a little cardboardy. Sharp citrus too, and apple, but also some alcohol. Passable saison, but not great.

Bottle, 75cl corked. (trade with the_epeeist) A hazy, orange-yellow beer with a dense, white head. Sweetish nose with honey, some peach, a touch of alcohol and bittering hops. Sweet and slightly bitter, herbal flavor that is quite fruity. Full-bodied, with a long, sweet finish with fruityness and some hops. Could use a little more spicyness. Sure pleasant though. (071228)

Bottle - Sweet yeast, a little boozy and banana. Clear gold with a frothy white head. Primarily booze and yeast with some slight sour notes. Aftertaste is a slight burn from the alcohol and bananas. The alcohol I taste throughout is just not my cup of tea, or beer.

Bottle @ "Press Deans button tasting". Hazy yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, hayish, lightly grassy, a bit sweet. Medium body and carbonation.

A: Golden straw color, lots of white foam and great lacing. S: Great yeast smell, some light citrus, apple might make an appearance, and a very light funkiness. T: A slight sweetness, some green fruits. Yeast and spice are there as well, adding to the complex taste. M: Medium body, good amount of carbonation for this beer. D: Delicious Saison, well balanced and interesting.

On tap at flying saucer. Has a cloudy orange yellow with a frothy white head that leaves behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet fruit with a lingering pinot. Medium mouthfeel with a dry fruit taste. Easy to drink while hiding the alcohol well. A very good saison from hennepin.

Bottle at home. It pours cloudy golden with a decent fluffy white head. The nose is soft, doughy, cereal, fruity, spicy action, herbal, grassy, nougat, banana, orange rind, brioche and toasty grain. The taste is smooth, doughy, crisp grassy bitterness, spice, ripe banana, apple, pear drops, some alcohol boost, orange peel and toasty grain with a dry, spicy finish. Medium body and moderate-high foamy carbonation. True to style and could easily pass for a Belgian creation. Tasty.

Aroma of yeast and citrus, perhaps some grass. A little lemon? Slightly translucent light gold color with a white real ale head that is ferocious (and laces). Starts with lemony citrus, yeast, banana?, and cardamom? Decent frothy mouthfeel. The finish is a bit herbal with spice and light hop bitter. Seems very well balanced. Quite tasty.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear tarnished gold with a large lasting white head. Aromas of straw, spice, light apple and light pear. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, light spice and a hint of fruittiness with a crisp dry finish.
