COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Collaboration with HBO for the Game of Thrones series.

Blonde ale with malty sweetness and a touch of fruity spiciness, Noble Hops aromas and notes of citrus. Suitable to serve to kings, or pretenders to the iron throne.

Pour slowly so as to not disturb the yeast sediment, but with enough vigor to create a luxurious head and release the rich bouquet.

Did not expect to find this on tap at Cantoros in Northville Michigan; searching for 2 years for this and it randomly appears. Aroma is of peach, white pepper, and straw; but this was served cold, i expect it to open up more as it warms up - a bit of sour dough bread and fallen crab apple when it warms up, some clove, oaky tannins. Appears hazy gold, lots of bubbles, nice white lace. Tannins really stand out in the taste (on the end), mild black pepper and sweet cereal grain are up front, tannins remind me of many Jolly Pumpkin ales. Fizzy, light, but the high tannin density makes it very "pucker-y." Overall, good.

750 ml bottle into signature tulip glass, bottled on 8/14/2015. Pours slightly hazy bright golden yellow color with a 3 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, bready malt, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of yeast spiciness and moderate earthy/grassy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, bready malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy/bready/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Belgian blonde ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, bready malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2016 One of the finest I’ve tasted and it was the beer that started my trek toward drinking craft brews. A full, rich, brew with a surprisingly light touch on the palate considering the amount of sediment left on the bottom after being capped. I hope they bring it back as an anniversary offering.

Bottle to trappist. Very pale, slightly cloudy pour with a large, thick head. Head sticks around. Aroma of lemon peel, moss, some sweetness. More lemon, along with yeast and some orange bitters, in the flavor. Thicker mouthfeel than expected.

Pours unclear thick and blonde with a nice creamy white full beige head. The aroma brings some sweet Belgian yeast, lavender, honey, and a subtle hint of citrus. Body is almost creamy, with nice light tangy yeast and citrus, the lemon peel shining through smoothly.

Wonderful farmhouse ale aroma - citrus, malt, hops - reminds me of boulevard Tank 7 in aroma. But appearance is the dark brown of a Dubbel with a very thick frothy head. Taste is fantastic. Very smooth, a little initial sweetness followed by some spice on the end. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours pale straw gold. Very cloudy. Ample rocky white head. Lots of beautiful lace. Nose of yeast, and lemon candies. Stylish. Good amount of bret funk. Thankfully quite dry. Alcohol is pronounced but not punchy. Cereal backbone layered with modest medicinal lemony hop, wheat, bread dough, and grass. Very nice. (1.5 year old bottle)

THOUGHTS: Nice, but nothing unique. Very Ommegang in flavor. A little like a lighter, spicier Duvel. TECHNICAL: Drank 3/31/2013. Bottle. Poured an ever-so-slightly hazy, medium golden yellow with a large white head that mostly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma had light to moderate light bread, pale malt and cracker; moderate grassy hops; moderate spicy yeast; pepper and lemon with more and more spice coming out as it warmed. The initial flavor was slightly sweet and slightly sweet and lightly acidic and bitter; while the finish was moderately bitter and lightly sweet and acidic with an average to long duration. There was pale malt, white bread, cracker, lemon, pepper, spices, spicy yeast, grassy hops and more and more lemon as it warmed. The light to medium body was dry with very fizzy carbonation and a dry and metallic finish.
