Bottle at BCTC 2010. Pours dark, almost black, with a dense, tan head. Strong roasted malt aroma with some candy and yeast. Flavor has a dark malt sweetness with chocolate and dark fruits. Medium in body with average carbonation. Finishes sweet and roasty with some apparent Belgian yeast an mild dryness. Very nice. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - AUG 16, 2010
This is only a test batch, AFAIK. Overall not my favorite from the 5. Dark color, aroma and flavor of english malts and sour fruit. An easy drinking light sourness, a good intro to sour porters. Well done. egajdzis (6830) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 2, 2010
[BCTC 2010] Nearly opaque black color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, chocolate, toast, and dark fruits. Taste of darker fruitiness, roast, smoke, and dark chocolate. Dry finish.
