I love the spicy yeast aromas that explode from every Ommegang bottle I open. This one does not disappoint! Pours orange amber with a tall lingering tan-white head. Tastes characteristically Belgian... And specifically Ommegang while presenting the malty grain flavors splendidly. I particularly enjoyed the rye which really comes through on the palate. Another incredible beer from an awesome brewery and a fitting ode to the harvest.
Nice alternative to the toffee-caramel sweetness of the marzens currently flooding the shelves. Surprisingly dry, a long, floral hop finish leveling out the fruity malt notes on the front end. Apple, wheat, clove, orange, and bread all come through on towards the middle, while the back grows bitter and soapy, with hints of pencil shavings, yeast, and rye spiciness. Effervescent texture gains a creamy undertone thanks to the oats. Lovely pour comes out orange-gold with a neverending off-white head and massive lacing. Apples and clove on the nose. Highly drinkable. Bacchus66 (1006) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 13, 2017

12 oz bottle labelled as Grains of Truth. Pours a clear copper color with a two finger-thick off-white cap of foam. Aroma is malty and a little sour. Medium body with lots of carbonation on the tongue, the flavor is a combination of malt, wheat and a little spice from the rye. A little tartness on the finish. Great beer! Copper color with a huge, fluffy, ecru colored head. Sweet wheat, rye and buckwheat honey scents. Some earthy grains in the background add complexity. Light sweet start. Malty flavors abound, with spicy rye, oats and wheat. Floral to herbal hops. A touch of funk/yeast. A brew to ponder over. 5/12

Leather and polish scents of alcohol sour and yeasty. Pours a cloudy brown orange with a massive rocky off-white head. Tons of lacing. Nice biting sour tastes of rye and oats with some sweetness and a balanced long sweet and sour finish. Oily mouthfeel with sparkling carbonation. Very nice ale. tapefuzz (928) - Massachusetts, USA - NOV 11, 2016
[Grains Of Truth] Tasting at brewery. Pours orangey-amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma is grainy and metallic. Taste is sweet malt, biscuits, grain, and grapefruit. Lightly bitter. Light-medium body. Medium body. Thin mouthfeel. PanMarek (465) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 8, 2016
Pours a hazy, caramel brown with thick, persistent beige foam. Spicy nose with some bread, floral hops, maybe some citrus and banana. The taste is also complex with some spice (clove) and lemon. Medium body active fizz and a surprisingly crisp finish. The hops and malt balance well, with the bitter hops coming out slightly ahead, thanks to the spice.
