Beer pours a partly cloudy light caramel color with a tall off-white persistent head. Chunky lacing. Besides the aroma of the Belgian yeast, the predominant aromas are apricot, clove, white pepper and a touch of baseball glove leather. The taste is mildly sweet, but more fruity sweetness than sugar sweetness. Mildly tart and softly bitter. Medium-bodied. The grains show up in the finish, although I would say the taste is more of raw grain than cooked or roasted. Clean finish. The texture is soft. Body is medium. Medium carbonation. A pleasant beer that really tastes at around 55 degrees F. A very approachable brew from one of my favorite American breweries.
12oz bottle labeled ’Grains of Truth’. Pours cloudy orange-copper, full off white head, decent lacing. Yeast and grain aromas, orange, spice, wheat flavors. Long tasty finish. matty (417) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 1, 2017
12 oz bottle labelled as Grains of Truth. Pours a clear copper color with a two finger-thick off-white cap of foam. Aroma is malty and a little sour. Medium body with lots of carbonation on the tongue, the flavor is a combination of malt, wheat and a little spice from the rye. A little tartness on the finish. Great beer! Copper color with a huge, fluffy, ecru colored head. Sweet wheat, rye and buckwheat honey scents. Some earthy grains in the background add complexity. Light sweet start. Malty flavors abound, with spicy rye, oats and wheat. Floral to herbal hops. A touch of funk/yeast. A brew to ponder over. 5/12

Pours a copper color with a very foamy, long-lasting white head. Aroma is spicy yeast, bubblegum, and citrus. Flavor is fruit, citrus, and spicy yeast. Has some carbonation, a smooth body, and a bit of astringency. Good. katrinaez (2021) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2016
Nice lighter flavor. Kinda wheat like and a very Belgian flavor. Transferring from old system.

Leather and polish scents of alcohol sour and yeasty. Pours a cloudy brown orange with a massive rocky off-white head. Tons of lacing. Nice biting sour tastes of rye and oats with some sweetness and a balanced long sweet and sour finish. Oily mouthfeel with sparkling carbonation. Very nice ale. tapefuzz (531) - Massachusetts, USA - NOV 11, 2016
[Grains Of Truth] Tasting at brewery. Pours orangey-amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma is grainy and metallic. Taste is sweet malt, biscuits, grain, and grapefruit. Lightly bitter. Light-medium body. Medium body. Thin mouthfeel. PanMarek (452) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 8, 2016
Pours a hazy, caramel brown with thick, persistent beige foam. Spicy nose with some bread, floral hops, maybe some citrus and banana. The taste is also complex with some spice (clove) and lemon. Medium body active fizz and a surprisingly crisp finish. The hops and malt balance well, with the bitter hops coming out slightly ahead, thanks to the spice. p0rkch0p (117) - Missouri, USA - SEP 24, 2016
Looks can be decieving. Light, rye, bready taste. Amber, clear, color. Light and refreshing
