A BELGIAN LOVE AFFAIR Ommegang Seduction is lovingly brewed with six dark malts. Chocolatier Callebut provides the chocolate, while Liefmans brings the cherries. This international romance is consumated with a full body, alluring aromas and flavors of Belgian chocolate, and tart cherries. Seduction is an ale to be lovingly embraced. Beautiful, rich and smooth, roasty and malty throughout, Seduction offers balanced chocolate-cherry notes, a bit of caramel sweetness, and a long, slow finish. Seduction is welcoming and warm-hearted, gently hopped and harbors no bitterness, leaving only a lingering glow.

Dark brown with a nice brown head. Aroma is of light chocolate, fruity, and light tartness. Medium, creamy body. Flavor has more of the cherry (but not an overload) chocolate, sweet malts, sugar, and light yeast notes. Very enjoyable.

Location/Date:Last beer and rating of January 2012! Bottle shared with Dave on January 31st, 2012.

Appearance: Pours a dark black with light white head.
Aroma: Aroma is malty and sweet of chocolate and cherry.
Taste: Some bitterness with roastiness, chocolate and some cherry but not overbearing.
Palate:Lighter body than most porters, lingering aftertaste.

Summary: A pretty good porter, lighter in body than some, and a nice way to finish out a night of drinking with something slightly sweet.

I thought this was really good...huge nose that’s sweet, chocolaty, and smooth. Body is relatively thin, but still has a ton of flavor. Chocolate is there again as well as a substantial roasty-nuttiness that’s very enjoyable. Lingers on your palate for a while.

Draft at Belgian Cafe with Pat. Pours a pitch black with some nice spicy aroma to it. Dried fruits mixed with slight chocolate aromas. Taste is slightly smokey, nicely fruity, with just a little bit of chocolate. relatively low alcoholic content lets you enjoy.

750mL bottle. Poured medium-deeper brown with a tall, fluffy beige head.. lots of sticky lacing followed it down. The aroma picked up a blend of sweeter and darker, somewhat smoked chocolates along with cherry dust and earthy/fruity yeast.. soft overall, and the chocolates were really nice. The flavor was also chocolate-centric, with dry, lightly-smoked cocoa leading.. fruity yeast and a hint of cherry around.. chocolate-covered cherries really shined in the end, joined by a kiss of vanilla.. tasty stuff. Medium-bodied at most on the palate, and well-carbonated.. on the dry side and a little grainy.. this came together well as it warmed up and progressed through the palate.
