COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ommegang’s brewers spent several years refining their ideas of what a "perfect" tripel would be. In the original style, a Belgian tripel is a golden ale, from 8.5% to 10% ABV, with fruity flavors and aromas coming from the yeast. Tripels are simply brewed, but with great attention to detail. Ommegang Tripel Perfection goes beyond the exquisite attention to detail and adds spices to subtly enhance aromas and flavors. The result is a fine ale honoring Belgian brewing tradition, while also expanding on it in the new Ommegang tradition.

Bottle. Pours with a hazy golden-orange body with a large white head. Aroma is dry, pear, coriander, candi sugar, tarragon, dried pineapple, apricot and orange peal. Taste is slightly buttery, medium sweet, candi sugar, ginger, bread. Reminds me a bit of an older Westmalle. Slick, butter mouthfeel (seems off), lively bubbles. Medium booze. Some diacetyl going on it seems (surprising, but I do get it on the flavor and mouthfeel).

Bottle sample from backlog notes. Pours a hazy orange golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, honey, bright citrus, yeast, bready, mild spices, pretty decent tripel.

Golden pour with copious white head. Hits all the marks for a solid tripel. Well-attenuated, citrus, good yeast presence.

750 ml bottle from Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield Ohio. Clearance for under $5.00 a great bargain! Pours a cloudy amber gold with a white head. Aromas of malt and banana with some orange and herbal Aromas also. Flavor is the same with a little sweetness from the malt. Very complex flavor. Lots of layers of flavor. Light to medium palate. Little lacing in the glass. Nice bitterness at the finish. No alcohol burn at all. Very nice beer.

From a variety pack: pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is quite spicy, fruity, sugary, not boozy. Taste is rather thick, sweet, and spicy. Hefty body. Lingeringn coriander aftertaste. A rather proper tripel.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is bready, spicy yeast esters, citrus, light floral coriander. Taste is crisp and spicy, but also soft. Amazing mouthfeel and just enough character to be special but also very drinkable. Lemon zest, crackers, light pepper, spiced lemon cookies, maybe some peaches. Awesome.

Pours a bright golden amber with a big white head. Light carbonation with some lacing. Strong aroma of coriander and celery. Fairly smooth with a taste very similar to a Witbier. Lots of coriander flavor and a slightly dry finish. Light sweet bready aftertaste. Not my favorite style. Ok but not great.
