Witte is our version of the classic Belgian wit or "white" ale. Witte, which is actually Flemish for white, is brewed with malted and unmalted wheat, orange peel, and coriander - offering a refreshing style that showcases the Belgian talent for brewing full-flavored ales that are also light and balanced. It is pale straw in color, slightly hazy from the yeast, and topped with a huge white, fluffy head.

This is an example of an excellent Belgian style beer made in the USA. Perfect for hot, summer weather along with some Tapas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at brunch today with Erica (Mussels n Sausages) and many times before. Always solid. Looks very nice - ultrapale yellow almost whitr. Nose yeasty and salty. Palate light yeast, light hop, salty/coriander flavor with some candy. Extremely refreshing crisp mouthfeel which when very cold and fresh is even better due to moderate carbonation.

0,355l bottle from Beergium. A bit hazy, light yellow beer with medium white head. Aroma has banana, wheat and sweet malts. Taste has some hints of citrus, wheat. Not much else. Medium body, high carbonation. Nice to drink on a hot summer day in terrace, but nothing else.

What do you call this? White ale, huh? Sounds pretty racist to me. Pekkcom.

Got one bottle, thinking it was something new since it is labelled ’White Wheat Ale" instead of Witte... but I guess not. It’s at 5.2% and conforms to the usual descriptions, such as ’Very citrus forward with a little spice on the aftertaste. Earthy tones prevail along with a slightly dish soap reminiscent lemony tint and tartness. Light bodied and refreshing on a warm afternoon.’ Yeah, soapy, boring, not that great and the spice, coriander or clove, is not one I care for in an ale. One and done.

Hazy bright yellow color with rocky white head. Aroma has wheat, banana and vanilla sweetness, really nice. Taste is not really sweet but has some banana flavor. Also some sourdough, a little astringent and bitter. Light body, medium carbonation but feels quite smooth. Overall it’s a pretty good witbier but the flavor doesn’t match the aroma.

Taste: Big wheat, salted biscuit, lemon with a bit of a toothy mouthfeel, airy finish. Citrus and wheat biscuit nose. Bright Gold, mostly clear, white very carbonated head with some lace. Medium body.

Aroma is wheat, metallic, spice, citrus, dry, clove, yeast. Appearance is honest, mostly clear, white head. Taste is citrus, wheat, yeast, spice, good. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, bubbly, citrus and wheat aftertaste. Overall, solid Wit.

Tasting at brewery. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is clove, coriander, wheat, and vague orange. Taste is wheat, clove, coriander, banana, and lemon. Dry finish. Light body. Lively carbonation. Crisp mouthfeel. Feels very close to a hefeweizen.

17Beer (340) - Connecticut, USA - NOV 8, 2016
Light lemony, citrus and sour scents. Pours a cloudy gold with a bright white with fine pinpoint bubbles. Flavor is very fresh and light lemon. Big carbonation and good lacing. A solid Witbier.

tfontana (950) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 17, 2016
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is hazy pale yellow with greenish tinge, 1 1/2-finger width frothy white head with fair retention, decent sparkle, decent lcaing. Aroma is surprising smokiness, wheat. Taste is tart, citrusy wheat, different from aroma. Palate is medium bodied with foamy texture, lively carbonation and lightly tart finish. Overall, representative of the style without a lot of complexity.
