Clear dark brown color with a small, fizzy - virtually none, virtually none lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, milk chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, dak malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20150925]

Pours very dark brown with a tab head. The aroma has lots of caramel, chocolate, sweetness and smooth roast. It has a smooth rich body with smooth carbonation. The taste is sweet and delicious with caramel, chocolate and syrup. The finish is smooth, lush and creamy. Fantastic.

Big aroma of sweet milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel. Taste of dulce de leche, chocolate, espresso and caramel. Quite sweet and cloying. Great cocoa taste alike Prairie’s Bomb, and a clear caramel sweetness from Omnipollos stouts, a great showcase of both breweries big ability to make great stouts. Minus points is that it is slightly too acidic, which erupts towards the end and takes over.

On tap at Villains - Chicago. Pour is close to black with a medium tan head. Aroma and flavor of liquid chocolate, toffee, vanilla beans, caramel sauce, and dairy creamer. Finish is similar with a bit of booze coming through.

Draft on tap at Villain’s Chicago (Chicago, IL). Another exciting find to kick off December. Pours a deep darker blackish opaque hue, darker and deep, some touche of ruby glow hit the edges at times. A creamier dark brown head atop is sizable, dying down to a firm film with solid lacing overall. Pretty, the darkness of the head is quite striking overall. Aromas show pronounced cocoa powder and caramel, dulce de leche, coffee and roast meet vanilla, subtle almond and more caramel. Creamy sweet lactose temper the assault, a sweeter melange is rich, vanilla driven, caramel sauce and that touch of salt and roast. Fun, sweet, rich but not daunting. Initial is sweet and a bit vanilla driven, caramel and flan meet coffee, toast and roast. Biscuity and toasty meet caramel and toffee sweetness. Not nearly as sweet or thick as fashioned with a bit of mineral and salty caramel appeal into the back. A bit flabby carbonation wise, but I think that’s where the sweeter lactose sugars, vanilla and caramel take over. A bit sticky, lots of caramel, some nuttiness hit the palate. Carmellized, nougat and some vanilla creaminess. Very much a candybar appeal type without being oversweet (I bet Dak would like this). A bit of toasty roast, biscuit and caramel/toffee/dulce de leche appeal as we hit the backend. Nutty, toasty, and sweet. Vanilla smooths this whole thing out liberally through the whole experience. Again, a bit sweet and flabby on carbonation but this isn’t overwhelming or sickly sweet. Pretty nice stuff I think. A sufficient roasty toast appeal, biscuit and gentle warmth into the backend and finish. A pretty beer, rich potent sweeter nose is pleasant without overwhelming. This one lacks a touch on the palate but really offers some nice flavors. A rich flavor profile, good flow with those flavors and a lot of dessert appeal without overwhelming. I dug this.

Vestergaard (2089) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - NOV 27, 2015
On tap at Borefts Beer Festival 2015, day 1. Pours a pitch black with a small, tan head. Aroma has so much toffee! Caramel, "werthers echte" - a hard candy with cream toffee flavor. Cream, fudge.. and maybe a hint of roast. But the caramel, man! Taste is sweet, syruppy, cinnamon spicy, huge caramel, slight saltyness, slight bitter roast. Body unfortunately doesn’t live up to the aromas and flavors, but man this is a crazy beer! One of the highlights at the festival!
