Bottle @ Pat’s tasting. Black pour with a tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, grape juice, and licorice. Sugary sweetness, some smoke, and ash. Flavor is a touch bitter from the intense roast character. Fairly sweet, though. Grape popsicle, honey, and sugar. Lots of smoke, ash, dark chocolate, and licorice notes.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tempo. Thanks zvikar. Pitch black-colored with a beautiful brown head. Roasty aroma, somewhat burnt, with coffee and some dark chocolate. Bittersweet flavor, roasty, burnt, with coffee, a touch of maple and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, wonderful silky mouthfeel. Really great.

Nische (2526) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 16, 2013
Pitch black with a small, tan head. Sweet aroma with roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Some cocoa and licorice. Taste is sweet. Full body, super creamy texture. Finishes dry and roasted with chocolate.

Linnet (1909) - Karlstad, SWEDEN - NOV 15, 2013
Bottle from Systembolaget. Ar: sweet, alcohol, roastiness, coffee, spices, chocolate, sugary. Ap: black colour, no head. T: medium bite, sweet, salty, roasty, alcohol. P: fullbodied, soft carbonation. O: Once again Henok proves his inability to create a really good IS.

Bottle, 65cl - Opaque black beer with a small beige head. Aroma is malty with notes of coffee, chocolate, alcohol, dried fruit and cloves. Flavor is malty with notes of coffee, chocolate, alcohol ans dried fruit. Slightly unbalanced with a little too much alcohol bite, but otherwise a nice coffee filled imperial stout.

[email protected] Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is coffee bomb, alcohol and some liquorice. Very odd as such, without a real balance. Flavour is toffee, really strong coffee and alcohol and other sweet elements. Out of balance also in flavour.

Leighton (22329) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 29, 2013
Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours oily black with a brown cream head. Charred malts on the nose with accents of dark chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor with rich chocolate, dark bread, cocoa, alcohol and earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with earthy bitterness and burnt wood, dark chocolate. Good one.

MiP (15973) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2013
Bottle, 12.5%. Quite roasted aroma, also quite jammy. Black colour. Small dark brown head. The flavour is sweet and very roasted, also a nice jam note. Good hop bite in the finish. Syrupy mouthfeel. Tastes very good, but it is a bit much, really.

Bamsen78 (5562) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2013
Bottle. Pours nearly black with airy tan head. Dark aroma of malt, caramel and chocolate. Sweet flavour of malt, chocolate, resins and caramel. Sweetish aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Sweet but not excesssively so. Nice, indeed.
