Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2018 Pours rather flat with small fresh nose in herbal and light yeasty character. Taste is trave of champagne and some wine but also light hops. Palate is short but light hoppy bitterness.

Bottle from Belgian evening! Good starter indeed. Refreshing with yeasty characters combined with hoppy bitterness and loads of fruits. High carbonation is not really helping. Good.

4 finger frothy, white head. Hazy, light amber coloured beer.

Aroma is citrusy hops, apricot, slight barnyard, banana mallow and a hint of clove.

Taste is banana mallow, grapefruit, slight apricot and light bready notes.

Mouthfeel is crisp and quite light, yet with a capable body. Medium bitterness. Rather high carbonation. Oily in mouth after a while.

Overall: Really pleasant blend between a Belgian Ale and a Pale Ale. Definitely got those belgian notes but they're more subdued and the sweetness is very nicely balanced with a hoppy bitterness. Most of all, this is so ridiculously drinkable. No hints of alcohol at all, highly sessionable.

Wunderschöne Fruchtnase, im Trunk in der Tat sehr belgisch, fruchtig, malzig, definierter Alkoholkörper. Prima Ding.

11/20 mixed feelings - slightly bitter and woody pale ale taste but it also has a slight sweetness which is nice.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2017 Espectacular Belga Ale amb 3 etapes marcadíssimes: soft - sec- amarg que s'allarga fins l'eternitat. Personalment em sembla sorprentnent a nivells insospitats. Alegria i birra fina.
