Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing.

Bottle shared, thanks Raul. Champagne yeast is always a tricky twist, quite liked that one early one with its dry grape edge but spiciness and alcohol heat slowly took over. Interesting one but to be enjoyed in small pouring.

Corked 750 from Systembolaget and drank it all by myself. Very tasty balanced ale with crispy finish. What a beer.

Thanks to jinroh for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing a finger of clena white foam with well filtered golden honey. The nose shows a lot of lime. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied with clean lime and pine notes throughout. Light bitterness on the finish. Nothing out of place but a bit simple.
