COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing.

Heidbummer (881) - SCOTLAND - OCT 7, 2016
Draught, BD Clerkenwell. Pours hazy orange, thin lacy head. Aroma of yeast and orange, hint of doves. It’s very Belgian tasting! Nice balance of yeast, citrus, floral stuff. Perhaps a bit thin for the abv. Another solid beer from Omnipollo.

Keg, Brewdog Leicester. Hazy golden with a small foam. Lemon with spiced oranges and bready yeast. A little funky. Spicy with herbal notes. Toasted malts. Grassy. Spritzy body. Dry finish. Belgian blonde done very well.

330ml bottle. Hazy pale golden yellow colour with a big frothy white head. Aroma: citrus fruit, yeast, spice. Taste: citrus fruit, yeast, pale malt, spices. Dry, hoppy bitter finish. Medium body, fairly heavy carbonation - rather gassy/bubbly in the mouth but it settles down after a while. Nice brew.

ARoma: lightly yeasty but not too strong; some fruitiness; Appearance: golden straw, clear, with billowy white head that dissipates slowly; Taste: yeasty and spicy; not overly complex; Palate: medium bodied with long, apple-juice finish; Overall: pretty good but not a favorite.

Yellow, clear, with high, white, head which disappears pretty fast. In aroma sweet & sour, spicy with fruitiness reminding peach and plenty of tropical, citrus hoppy notes. In taste, there is ’belgian’ spicy & fruity traits with some malty background, it’s dry and crisp. Medium carbonation and easily drinkable.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherd’s Bush, London. A hazy golden coloured pour with a healthy white head on top. Belgian, yeasty, spice aroma. Tastes quite Belgian, yeasty, malty, fruity, spice. Smooth drinking Belgian style ale.

drjoeng (1380) - SINGAPORE - AUG 21, 2016
6.5%ABV. Belgian Pale Ale. Poured out light gold. 6ºSRM. Nose has some beery aromas. There may be some light formic acid as well. Light phenolic aroma on the nose. Overall a very refreshing nose on a pale ale. The foamy head reminds me Delirum Tremens the first time I had it! Mouthfeel is carbonated and beery. Palate has pale malt with water biscuits, saltines and a pronounced minerality to it, reminiscent of Perrier or San Pelligrino. Even some sea salt. Brief sweet malt. Some light wood near the middle with fresh wet pine or young oak or maybe cherry. Then the hoppy bitter that is solidly bitter but not a fresh hoppy bitter, closer rather to a perfumed, woody bitter of incense water or more appropriately what I imagine old bong water or hookah water to taste like. Finish is actually brief for me with the bitter fading pretty quickly. Goes on Favorites List !
