Hazy dark brown beer, massive pale tan head. Palate is light and a little dry with fine carbonation. Soft malt, slightly grainy. Hops are light piney citrus. Well balanced. Finishes semi dry with mild minerals and a mildly bitter aftertaste. Light and respectable.
Bottle from CBX. Deep amber pour with a foamy white head that lasts. Caramel malt and brown sugar aroma with toast and earthy hops. Sweet caramel entry quicky turns into bitter earthy, pine hops throughout the finish. Great carbonation and body. ComradeK (1262) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUN 24, 2013
330ml bottle. Pours a hazy copper amber, with a huge off-white head, which lasts very well and leaves good lacing. Pine and fruity hops notes and fig sit against a backdrop of toffee malt to create the aroma. Quite strong fruity hops up front mix with a little pine, before giving way to rich toffee malt and candied fruit in the mid-palate. Pine hops and a touch of citrus come through in the finish. This is a nice hoppy red ale, with a good balance between hops and malt flavours. gunnfryd (15330) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 23, 2013

BBE 16/01/14 -- Pours dark reddish brown with a large foamy white head. Aroma of fruits, berries, hints of sweet caramel and malts. Taste is malty, caramely and slightly fruity with hints of herbal notes, rye, berries and grassy hops. Finish is dry and bitter with some hints of sugary, perhaps even slightly tart berries and grassy hops. Okay, surprisingly complex amber ale, but feels a bit unbalanced.
Bottle. Pours amber with off white head. Nose and taste of caramel, dark sugar, spicy and earthy malts, grain, resin and hint of cranberry sweetness. Finishes bone dry. Medium body. Nisse666 (8112) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2013

Purchased at Craft Beer Cellar in Belmont, MA; enjoyed on my hotel balcony porch after a big day of Acadia hiking in Bar Harbor, ME. Appearance is a hazy caramel brown with a rich and bubbly off white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is pretty sweet with a spiced hop profile, light yeast, smell is nice. Taste is highly carbonated, definitely has a sweet / sugar characteristic that leaves an interesting mouthfeel. There is a bit of a tin quality to this that I’m not particularly a fan of, decent beer. marcus (10757) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 27, 2013
Bottle from Star Grocery, Berkeley. Pours dark amber with a thick tan head and a fruity dark malt aroma. There is a full-bodied smoked malt flavor with a hint of cranberry and a lot of carbonation. Very complex.
