Sampled from the tap at Vintage. Pours near black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of roasted malts and dark grains with a hint of pine underlying. Flavor has creamy dark grains with light roasted malts balanced by pine and a bit of grass.

On tap at Cooper’s Tavern in Madison, pours a murky black with some bright white head. Nose has burnt toast, some light coffee notes, pine resin, soap, herbs, dried citrus peel. Flavor balances roast and citrus well, toast, bread, orange, pine, soap. Full bodied, dry and bitter finish. Really solid and what you expect of the style.

Now Banjo Cat. A pretty respectable Black IPA. One of the more centered and drinkable offerings I’ve had from OneBB. Brown black body. Thick steady beige head. Luscious roast chocolate tones. Respectable hop balance. Right on.

Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JAN 14, 2017
Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Riley’s Wines of the World in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark cola brown color brew with an average sized off-white head that quickly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of chocolate and tropical fruit, a hint of coffee and creme tartar. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of chocolate tropical fruit and some grapefruit zest. Finish has a short dark chocolate and Cascade-like hop bitterness that slowly disappears.

3.4
jbruner (5448) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - NOV 8, 2017
Pours a deep brownish black on tap with bubbly tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of piney and herbal hop notes over a mild roasted coffee malt base. Taste is a bit more hop forward than the nose, but still some big roasted malt on the back end, a touch of smoke. A dying style, but this did it pretty well. It seems Wisconsin is stuck in like 4 years ago with beer styles.
