3.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2012 Our beer list is constantly changing. We literally brew one barrel (31 gallons) at a time. That?s only two kegs. So we can experiment and try new things. And so can you. But once a particular beer runs out, it might not be back for a while.
Draft. Reddish-brown color. Floral aromatic notes. Fruit upfront, especially cherry.

Poured at a good temperature with a huge, foamy, cream-colored, long lasting head and lots of lace. Aroma like some other 1 bbl brews is very mild, vinous, malt, spice. Flavor’s like nose, tang is in front, then sweet with bitter fairly strong but in the back. Body/carbonation are good, alcohol warmth is heavy although strangely, as it wears on the warmth dissipates. Finish is like flavor, fairly long, no off notes and good sipping. pablo951 (690) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 6, 2013
Had it on tap at One Barrel Brewing Company in Madison Wi, a nano-brewery. Poured a clear brown hue, light head and aroma and a sweet tasting Belgian. ChiGuy68 (626) - Illinois, USA - JUL 6, 2013

Tap at One Barrel. Unfiltered orange-brown, glowing and yeasty. Patchy, creamy white head. Very sweet and sugary, with some interesting apricot, fruity Belgian yeast tones. Not much depth or balance, but has a nice flavor. Raisin, prune, plum. Boozy, amateur production. Lubiere (14247) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2013
A murky amber ale with no head. In aroma, strange mix of coriander, phenolics, tropical fruits, ginger and cardamom. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar with coriander, ginger, incense, a bit of sweat. On tap at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 19 2012.

On tap at One Barrel - Pours amber with a thin off white head. Nose is doughy as hell, with big bready malt notes and a dark fruitiness. No booziness. Taste is the same--big doughy bread with dark fruitiness. Some cherry notes, and very little hint of the 10%. Some heat going down but not much. Medium bodied...very tasty. Just tapped at the brewpub. Pours a murky brown with aromas of dark fruits. The fruit really comes through in the flavor, but the booze balances it out so it is too sweet. I can see why this one doesn’t last long for them. Well done!
