3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Taster at the Blarney Stone’s Solstice Fest, Oak Forest. Spicy nose with a bit of fruity hop to it, and nuttin’ wrong with that. Brownish color, in fact taste is a bit like a nut brown ale. On the palate I get a nice dose of hops, but the rye also lends a note of hemp.
[Tap] Bright yellow pour with a considerable amount of haze to it. Almost looks like a wheat beer. Pillowy head of white foam. Aromas of spicy rye malts, biscuits and perfume/floral hops. Flavors of rye bread, dough, white bread, floral hops and mild citrus fruits. Clean and tasty. The bitterness is there, but not overwhelming. The finish is pretty abrupt. zebra (2142) - Illinois, USA - MAY 7, 2013
