aka Opat Světlý speciál 13 -- Served in an Opat mug in CZ in July 2011. Golden; clear with no visible carbonation; head is less white (more tan) than expected. Very nice and very sweet aroma of malt with a trace of hops. The flavor is more distinctive than the aroma; it has a fine bitter-sweet mix, with a nice flavorful hit of light toasted malt and hops that passes quickly leaving a lasting but mild hoppy finish. Very nice! Medium-light body; crisp. O - my first Opat is a winner. This tasted great by itself; with some trepidation, i tried it with some sweets that came to the table before i finished (vanilla ice cream; cinnamon-sour cherry-caramel parfait) with which the beer paired remarkably well! This brewery makes many flavored beers -- including pepper, cherry & apricot -- that i am now even more eager to try.

taphandle (1135) - Texas, USA - JUN 11, 2012
My favorite of the Czech bottled beers I brought home. A good bit of malt and the hops were still fresh. Very clean and easy to drink.

Koelschtrinker (21489) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 10, 2011
Muffiger, sehr grasiger und wirklich SEHR eigener Antrunk. Etwas herb, weiter sehr grasig, CO2-arm, komisch. Malzig werdend, woran sich die Grasigkeit anpasst. Zum Ende hin besser, da ausgeglichener. Sehr komisch! Test vom 29.10.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,5,8,6,11,6 - 6,60

olsvammel (7289) - Örebro, SWEDEN - NOV 14, 2010
Bottle at SMÖF 2010. It poured a clear yellow-golden liquid with a small white head. Flavour of malt and earth. Semi-smooth mouthfeel, dry and light-medium body. Decent pilsner, didn’t look to good, but fresh and easy to drink. After having tasted a bunch of beers from this brewery I have problems seperating them, they taste very similar to each other.
