4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours very dark brown with a small head.
Nose shows burnt figs, rich caramelised bready malt, brown sugar, toasty melanoidin malt. Very rich.
Equally rich flavours, with toasty and bready melanoidin malt, golden syrup and some burnt, almost roasty, dark sugary fruit. Also some subtle booze.
Nice creamy carbonation works perfectly.
Thanks for sharing Kraddel + tderoeck +Friends. Sampled draft @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2017. Dark amber brown. Nose is sweet dark fruit, sugar, caramel, fudge brown honey. Taste is thick sweet near oxidized dates, sugar, caramel, sweet candy, syrup, raisin. Thick sweet syrupy sludge very neat. Michael27 (2439) - Berlin, GERMANY - NOV 25, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2017 Frisch vom Hahn beim Vini Birre Ribelli in BXL getrunken. Trübes dunkles Rotbraun. Die Nase hat noch die Weinfassaromen, wirkt aber schließlich etwas leicht. Der Körper pfeift am Stil vorbei. Beese (3305) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2017
330ml bottle from Beer Shop: St. Albans. Really dark ruby colour with an off-white head. Really low on carbonation, and not sure if that's deliberate. Slightly smokey and meaty nose, mixed with very sweet, dark fruits, booze, black cherries and brown sugar. martjoobolut (5355) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 2, 2017
Bottle (from SIP). Pours very dark ruby-brown with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is fruity, dried plums, sweetness, esthers, malt, caramel. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, plums, malt, cacao, booze. Finish is sweet, cocoa and booze. Overall: very good. FatPhil (17334) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 21, 2017

Rich malty aroma, quite savoury. Dark, brownish, brief tight tan head. Even more savoury taste, liquoricey, but sweet malty roast too, some burnt almost ashy aspects. Full palate, but a little dead due to sweetness, carbonation can’t cut through that, it just acts as a separate fizz. Nice dry bitterness, drying and resiny. Alcohol is reasonably well hidden.
330ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Slightly hazy brown color. Tiny size, beige head, stays. Husky, grainy, bit sourish and yeasty in aroma. Sweet, roast, marshmallows, caramel, toffee and honey in taste. Honey and very sweet in aftertaste. Covers alcohol well. But it is sweet. Too sweet for me. Solid brew. tanel025 (266) - ESTONIA - APR 14, 2017
Aroma is malt, yeast. Brown beer with very little beige head. First taste is a bit sour like cherry. Then sweetness of caramel and malt arrives. Some bitterness at the end. Not a bad beer. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Rather sweet, little bitterness. Maybe slightly too sweet for my taste. 19Oracolo78 (237) - ITALY - FEB 27, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2017 Birra dal color marrone scuro. Schiuma color caffellatte cremosa e persistente. All?olfatto sentori di banana, frutta secca e prugna. MrTipple (6991) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2017
Sweet caramel malts, very sweet grain, molasses, light oak barrel flavours. Hazy, dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Medium sweet. More caramel, dark, sweet grain malts, dark fruits, soft carbonation, full bodied, dark fruits, sticky texture, citric, bitter finish. Bottle at The Italian Job, Chiswick. anstei (2745) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - JAN 9, 2017
Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Aroma is strong nuts and caramel, toasted malts, very straightforward. Body is heavy, levitated by hints of sourness and a soft carbonation. Bourbon and vanilla notes. Long sour palate. Very nice.
